How will 2014 be for TZ ?

2013 was an enjoyable year on travel but a tough year for my career... It's a wake up call for me too. Because of this call, I have finally decided to pursue the MBA Master of Business Administration after years of dream but no actions. Now I target to complete within 1.5 years and looking forward for the graduation. It's too early to say whether i could finish by what have been set in the program. This is due to unknown factors in my coming job scope and many more changes yet to be known. All these factors were unknown in this challenging year. Anyway, MBA is NOT Married but Available. LOL

Time flies and my MBA study for first semester is halfway through. It's interesting to go back to school and learn something different. I hope i have the opportunities to apply what i learn in the near future.  Moreover, i met an entrepreneur whom has only high school cert yet he is running the operation side of the business. Sometime when we discussed about business operation, it was amazed on how he could handle the operation by learning from experience people surrounding him. I really salute him. 

Year 2014, some people has a great start like how US stock market. But the US stock market investors are not sure whether the champagne can continue to flow or not... Just like those people whom has a great starts. Are they able to maintain throughout the year whatever greatness they have?

For those whom started with not getting what they hoped / wanted... DO NOT disappointed. There are always some reason why you don't get what you wanted or hoped for... maybe there is something which is better waiting for you in the near future. Who know eh~ Just like what i have been through on year 2013... trying to get a job / career in Singapore but ended up so many disappointment, if i got a job in Singapore, i might not be making my mind to pursue my MBA. So, when  my current company offer sponsorship of the MBA and i quickly applied and went through numerous interviews and got selected from 60 applicants.

So now i'm sharping my knife and to the world...  I'll be BACK...

Health is degrading ...

I was having the healthy lifestyle until recently... My gym time got slash by 50% due to work. My sleep got slash by 50% too. And I have irregular sleep and i always felt tired for the past few months. Sometime i just have to skip the gym because i'm too tired. Why?

After i joining this new company, I have meetings in the morning, and early evening i.e. 8pm. And i need to work with Indian team which is 2.5 hours behind Malaysia timezone. The earliest time i can leave the office is 5pm. With the KL traffic and distance from my workplace to the gym nearest to my home so i could be able to attend the meting on time, it took around an hour to reach the gym. So i left 1 hour to workout, shower and rush back for meetings :( Anyway, not to say i need to work on some Saturday too. I have no choice but gave away almost 50% of my gym time. BTW, sometime i have to work late to accomplish some unplanned task just because some people doesn't plan probably. :(

Recently, i gotten a free blood test sponsored by my company.  The result has become a warning for me as i was categories into the unhealthy group... in fact some test result shown that i'm in the risky group :( So now, how should i go back to my healthy lifestyle... It's a challenge for me to make this happen given the situation right now.

Working Round the Clock

My very first time working round the clock after joining this new company... 

I was working with my deployment team from various region to deploy a new system to the production on Saturday early morning. The plan was to start from 12am to 12pm Saturday. 

But things went wrong with one interface and we were stuck, multiple retry but we decided to give up on 10:30pm Saturday. I was super tired after the whole long hour of following the team progress. I ended my day with a nice hot shower. 

While waiting for my hair to dry, I went online and did some chatting, facebooking until i dozed off. 

Guess what i just woke up... it's 12pm Sunday. Still feeling tired and half a day just wasted like this... :(

Chapter closed...

January 7th 2010 Kuala Lumpur Cloudy: Today, marks the last page of the current chapter for TZ. Why? He is going to close this chapter as he will proceed with a different working environment from Monday onwards.

TZ has decided to move on and closed the current chapter with his current position and company. Today is the last day in this current company. He will have a new environment, new colleagues and new role on next Monday.

Anyway, he feels bittersweet to leave the current colleagues as they are a bunch of friendly and fun people to work with... Anyway, life has to move on... Now the bunch of the colleagues have been added to his Facebook and become his friends ;-)

Hey, gotta go now, have to hit the office to go through the last day of work... hand over all the necessary items back to the HR. Ciao~

Going Business Trip soon

I received a text from my big boss while watching Iron Man 2 last night.

"Please bring your passport to office tomorrow."

Hmmm... I knew it, I will be traveling next week. To where? :-p

I will have a busy day today to plan all the travel itinerary and plan to handle all the situation and stuff while we were there. Hopefully i still have time to hit the gym tonite. Gotta go and get ready to hit the office now. Ciao~

Work piling up...

Sometime i think of workplace like a war zone. Especially you have those nasty, demanding and aggressive customers to serve. The worst things were they are not in Malaysia. They were all over the world.

A conference call has setup this afternoon to sort out some outstanding issues. These issues have been around but could not resolved... my boss was asking me yesterday... Yup~ first day after my vacation. There were so many things wasn't moving on Friday. I organized those things and let it move by itself when i was away... but not as expected. Am i going to marry to this job? Sigh~~~~

Hey, i just get a day off... just a day... seems like my colleague was looking all over for me last Friday. But luckily enough i did not get any call when i was having fun by the beach.

Okie... enough of ranting. Time to go back to the reality... Hit the office now or i will be late. Ciao~

Felt Bad to my team...

I felt bad that my team members have to re-shuffle their initial plan to cater for some short notice, important document review which pops up only this morning. I was given a task by my boss to organize the discussion with my technical team to final review and feedback. It's a bit rush but i have a good team that always provide a great support. :-)

Team, I owe u one... I will try not to come out so many adhoc and short notice meeting in the future... so all of us will not need to be rushing here and there. Anyway, today meeting will be the last one to accomplish something for the management... and it will bring us to our destination :-p

Folks ... lack of update this few days ... I have a busy weekend to come out an important document to send to my bossssss that required for our Face to Face working session and meeting in the near future... why i said near future? coz i don't know when am i flying... Sigh! Still a big question mark... "?"

But anyhow, the team still need to complete all the related document before leaving Malaysia. Team is still doing on some documentation to facilitate the discussion over in Uganda. The moment i got the news... I will make a huge announcement to the rest of the world and celebrate the day finally comes... at the meantime just enjoy what i enjoyed in Bolehland :-p

Raining day is approaching...

I think i need to be prepared for the raining day... why i mentioned raining day? not because of heavy rain these few days... errrrr.... As you know i started to work since end of July. So, I should be happy since there is few days to end of August... But until today I'm still have not get any confirmation to get my pay... Sigh! 

Just wondered should i continue to work or just stop at this moment? If i continue to work, it's fair to me? If i stopped working, i need to get another job soon before my reserve runs out... This things has bothered me these few days... BTW, i kept getting my friends asking me when am i going to fly off to Uganda. Sigh! Now I don't know whether should i continue with the project or just request the payment for what i have done then move on with my backup plan. I could not live with no pay now... moreover I contributed my own time, my own resources (usage of handphone) for a profit organization. Is this okay???? .... I don't mind using my own time and resource to contribute to the communities and non-profit organization without getting anything back. This is a volunteer work... It's very clear. But today, I'm working for a profit organization... setting the ground work yet i don't get a confirmation of getting the pay at the end of the day... It's that fair? Should i continue?

Same Same but Different

I had a quick conversation with Kimmie yesterday... and came to know that she will be starting her new job today... She was complaining to me that she wanna more time to rest after her last job... and for me, i rumbling about looking forward to kick start my new job immediate... I'm so bored and facing the four walls every morning when i wake up... :-(

Anyway, i'm happy for Kimmie as she found a good job immediate after her last job. She also have a good trip to Europe for 2 weeks before the end of her last job. As for me ... sigh! just staying @ home to wait for the new job to be started... no income... also no vacation *sob sob*

We left the company for the same reason.... site closure

Most of my ex-colleagues have got a job and they have a confirmed start date to kick start their new job... some even started their job 2-3 months ago... As for me

Hopefully, my new job could get started two weeks from now... please don't push out again!!!

Beginning of the new chapter...

I was sad to leave my previous company yesterday... it was a hectic day for me to get everything ready before end of yesterday. I was rushing here and there. Moreover, so many programs has been lined up for us whom were leaving in March 31st 2008.

Starting 8am, my last meeting with Penang folks to hang over the last piece of information. Once i finished the meeting, i got sucked into another room for the exit process, signed off lots of document. After completed the process, i walked back to my cub to transfer all important file from my laptop to the server and shared drive.

At noon, we had our lunch @ Verendah Cyberview Lodge. It was sad because our first team lunch was there 7 years ago but same venue for our last team lunch.. *sniff sniff*. Lots of picture taking and chatting, of course questioning on what's next :-p

The organizing committee has thrown a party for all of us whom are leaving on March 31st 2008. It was a sad moment and some of my colleague has cried out. Again a bitter sweet feeling for me. TZ is looking forward for the change.

Today, I woke up about 9 something... having stomach upset. I think must be eating too much yesterday :-p Anyway, just dumped my laundry to the washing machine and now in the dryer. I'm going to plan out what need to complete this week. Feeling a little unusual after not going to work... :-p My work now is to finish my resume and post it to the database.

Drafting my farewell notes...

I'm busy drafting my farewell notes which i would send out tomorrow evening before i leave the company... This will let my fellow colleagues to have some time to communicate with me in case they need some last minutes kind of information... Anyway, i'm counting down the days and it's very very near to my last day. Next Monday will be my last day. *sniff sniff*

Guess what? Last night as i was doing some shopping in The Gardens Mid Valley. I happened to see a big banner stated that they are hiring Barrister in Starbucks. I will just pop in next week with my resume and find out what is the job scope and hopefully i could get a part time job in Starbucks :-> So, if i do work in Starbucks, don't forget to drop by and say hi eh!

Anyway, gotta to get ready and go to the CSCP class. Today is my last class of this course and i will have to start my exam preparation study on next week onwards for June 21st 2008 exam...
