Hazy Day in Klang Valley

In conjunction of the super HOT day... our yearly friend HAZY has come for a round of visit to the City of Potholes, Kuala Lumpur. On the clear day i would be able to see the Twin Tower clearly from my balcony...

Clear Day after few days of Hazy...
But before this picture is taken... the sky looks yellowish, the twin towers has disappeared which i thought David Copperfield has come to Malaysia and perform his magic on the famous Petronas Twin Tower... No~ he is NOT here but HAZY did...

After only one day of clear days, HAZY came back again... Sad eh~
Dear Mother Nature, when are you going to pour the water... we need them badly... Please give us some water~

Haze in Kuala Lumpur (June 24th 2013)

After Malaysian famous blackout magic to make something appear from nowhere... Now, there is another magic to make the world famous icon Petronas Twin Tower disappeared...

Now you see it, now you don't...

Sunday Morning (June 23rd 2013)
Monday Morning (June 24th 2013)

Our lovely government has declared no school day on Monday i.e. today. Why can't they just do something to stop the situation? Are they not capable?

Dear PM, this is what you can do?
  1. Declare all school close for a day
  2. Declare State of emergency for those place API higher than 500
  3. Do cloud seeding and hope for rain.
If this is what you can do, i think everyone in Malaysia would have the capability to become PM... maybe they could do better than this... Our lovely PM, can you represent the nation to solve the root cause not just provide us this lousy temporary solution? Super disappointed!!! Maybe this is the different between self appointed leader and highly elected leader from the nation.

Looking at Singapore our neighbor, their DOE minister went over to Jakarta to discuss on resolution... their PM talked in the national TV and discuss the plan to get this haze resolve... but our lovely country DOE and PM. No Sight!!!... just report out the API and advice the nation. Drink more water eh~, wear masks eh~, collect masks from hospital eh~, don't eat heaty food eh~  and don't exercise outdoor eh~ etc...

How long do you think this solution can last? Please do something on the root cause not just temporary solutions... START the parliament session and discuss how to get the HAZE issue resolved LAH~

Kuala Lumpur vs Georgetown

Pothole here, Pothole there, everywhere Pothole... Rubbish here, Rubbish there, Rubbish everywhere...

As the resident of metropolitan Kuala Lumpur, i'm so frustrating with the rundown infrastructure that our lovely government has provided especially Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. The whole city is full of potholes, rubbish, clogged drain . The drainage underneath the cities was clogged with lots of rubbish and it smells... The resident underneath a.k.a rats are running wild and they are as big as the kittens. Can you imagine this is how Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur looks like?

On the other hand, I'm impress with how Georgetown being manage now. The road within Georgetown was so smooth and hardly can see a pothole. The streets at the downtown are also clean compare to Kuala Lumpur. And most impressive is the drainage system, i can see the clean water flowing in the drain and they did not smell. Hey Georgetown used to be very dirty and smelly like the current Kuala Lumpur but how Georgetown can be a nice city like today? So can our lovely Mayor of Kuala Lumpur do something to improve Kuala Lumpur?

Bare in mind the city of Kuala Lumpur is representing the country of Malaysia. So it will give the tourist a bad impression of the country when their first impression of Kuala Lumpur is what i mention above... Anyway, I just wondered why KL cannot have the environment or change like Georgetown Penang now? So where is the allocation of budget to clean up the mess and upgrade the infrastructure gone? Can anyone answer my question...

Facing the climate @ Ikano Power Station Malaysia

Facing the climate is a cartoon / comic exhibition @ Ikano from Oct 10-17th 2010. This event is held in conjunction of the Stockholm environmental conference. There are cartoonist from Sweden and Malaysia. I was invited by my friend Sheldon (one of the cartoonist from Malaysia) to attend this opening ceremony. This was a nice and simple exhibition/events to build the awareness of how important we need to conserve our environment.

As the theme is about global warming, go green, conserve energy etc... all the comics/cartoons that exhibit in this event was about saving environment... I managed to capture some pictures via iPhone during the ceremony.

Simple traditional Leather puppet show
on describing how important to conserve our environment

Everyone was very focus on the performance

Datuk Lat kick start the live drawing session

Anyone know which character is Dato Lat's drawing?
Sheldon (my friend) drew the Panquin

The cartoon that drawn during the open ceremony by 7 famous cartoonist a.k.a the picture above was auctioned in the event. Guess how much this piece of art work sold? The starting price was RM500.

There is a board that encourage all of us to post our suggestion on how to contribute on saving the environment...  I found the below two messages very interesting especially the first one...

Do pay a visit to Ikano before Oct 17th 2010... to take a look @ the exhibition at the same time place your suggestion on the board eh~

Kijal Awana : The Untold truth

By now, everyone knew that i was having a nice weekend over the nice resort Kijal Awana @ Terengganu. I took lots of nice beach shots as i have shared a couple in my previous post Photogenic : The Beach. I bet these shots has made you wanna to pay a visit to this resort and enjoy the real nice beach. hehehe.... this is how the hotel advertised and also our lovely government advertised it through Cuti-Cuti Malaysia to the world and stated we have a nice, clean and breathtaking beaches

But something was not reviewed...
As i walked along the beach, guess what i found...

Light tube :(

Plastic container :(

Tooth brush, lots of Drinking water bottles :(

Maggi pack :(

Cigarette package :(

Of cause there was not these 5 or 6 items only... They were lot's more that i did not even take shots on those. It was so disappointed by looking at this dirty beach. I think our nation and those tourist that came to our country and simply threw the rubbish should be punished and banished...

Anyway, Kijal Awana Resort has claimed that they have 7.6km of private beach... I'm really sure that these rubbish was lied within the 7.6km. The most disappointed part was such a nice resort came with a dirty beach which they emphasize so much about the beach... Please stop emphasize you have a breath-taking beach before you really clean them up.

I understand it's not the hotel fault to have a messy beach... This is all because of those uncivilized rubbish throwing nations whom have thrown the rubbish. Unfortunately, the hotel has used the beach as part of the package to get their customers. So i think they are responsible to keep the beach clean... I personally think that Kijal Awana management should start to clean up the beach before it gets out of control. Hopefully my next visit will not see so much of rubbish on the beach.

Anyway, today is Earth Day, let's keep our environment clean... please do not litter anywhere as you like... Look for a proper place to dump...

Happy Earth Day, may our mother earth clean and prosperous

10 hours to Earth Hour

Picture Adapted from www.zazzle.com/dim_the_lights_fo...84709530

Seems like everyone is talking about Earth Hour... So what is your plan for tonight? Stay @ home switch off the lights and make your air-con full blast. Boot up your computer and start Facebooking, blogging, MSNing what else... or Gaming too :p Or....

Anyway, it's not important whether you are participate in the so called Earth Hour 2010... It's important you save energy, save the environment, save water, do recycle and blah blah blah... every hour in your life rather than just do an hour lights off and announce to the world saying that i have done my part to participate.

The Earth hour thingy is just another commercialize trick, don't you agree? Like Valentine days... some restaurant and bar are offering Earth Hour dinner set, Earth hour drinks... etc etc. Is there commercial or what?

Anyhow, I will be eating my nice shrimp and chicken wing @ YUEN tonight. So not sure whether YUEN will lights off for 1 hour... it'll be interesting to know how to fight for Chicken Wing in dark... Will you get a chicken wing or you get a hunky arm &/or a hairy arm &/or a skinny arm &/or a flabby arm... etc :p wakakaka...

It's our duty everyday to save our planet
Save the environment, Save the mother earth

Photogenic Wednesday - 020 ( Save the Monkeys )

This is the 2nd week i posted Monkey as the Photogenic Wednesday... this is not the normal Monkey... it's the world famous proboscis monkey...

the monkey was hiding his face

still very shy to show his face

finally he showed his face

I took these pictures when i paid a visit to Sabah two years ago. This was taken @ a river cruise on the longest river in Sabah i.e. Kinabatang river. The so called Eco Tourism site. It was a nice trip with an exciting boat tour along the river. We managed to see the mangrove snake hanging down from the trees... and of cause we saw these Monkey along the way. The tour guide told us the Monkey will not go anyway reason being they have no way to go.. behind the few trees are all those palm oil estate... I was pissed when i heard that thanks to our lovely government approved those plantation company to clear those nice jungle and green the land with palm oil... and left a few trees besides the river and promote to the world that Malaysia has nice Eco Tourism... is this cheating or what? it's really really sad and ashamed to be a Malaysian? Errrr ... I really have no comments. What would you say?

How hazy is your day?

Woke up this morning and realized our lovely city has covered by our annual companion from our splendid neighboring country... where is our fabulous twin towers?

My day was so unmotivated when i saw the groomy day from my balcony... help! help! please chase away our unwanted visitor... I wanna my nice and clear blue sky... Can we rely on our government to help us to ensure we have a good environment to stay? hmmm... must be a joke of the century if the answer is YES!

Anyway, how hazy is your day? I hope it's not as hazy as like our weather out there now... Cheer up! The weather is bad doesn't mean your life is bad too... Anyhow, everyone please drink more water and jog less outside.... it's important to take care ourselves in such a bad weather... :p I hope our lovely government is going to do something about this soon... it has been a known issue for years after years especially during this periods... I do see some open burning in my communities too... those people should be punished in somewhere on polluted the environment... oh ya... what has our government done on overcome this issue??? :p

Earth Day morning @ Kuala Lumpur

I woke up extremely early this morning ... 4am. hehehe... you must be wondering as i always told everyone that i'm not a morning person... but why TZ woke up so early today? There were two reasons...

1. I promised my sister that I would send my parents, sis and bro-in-law to LCCT airport
2. I wanted to look @ the peaceful Kuala Lumpur in April 22nd 2009 - The world claimed that it's an earth day.

The sunrise was not happened until 6 something ... I still managed to have some time to drive back to my condo, opened my balcony door... and started the snapping the peaceful early morning KL view... The birds were humming with the traffic noises from the nearby road ... hehehe... fortunately the DUKE HIGHWAY still asleep.... :)

Sunrise @ Kuala Lumpur - 6:30pm

Sunrise @ Kuala Lumpur - 7:00am

Sunrise @ Kuala Lumpur - 7:30am

hahaha... you usually will see this truck in the morning... collecting our trash... in the earth day... this has triggered me how much rubbish we have created in a day? Anyone know the answer... mind to share?

Happy Earth Day 2009
Please love our earth
help to keep our earth green

60 Earth Hour - How KL city looks like?

I think by now everyone was aware there is a 60 Earth Hour campaign on March 28th 2009 (Saturday)... The campaign is to encourage everyone to participate to have light out for an hour from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.... This is a world wide event... eager to see how the world look like without lights ... Can we see the twinkle twinkle little stars as what we had before or just can't see anything at all... because of the hazy night without lights...

I was sitting on my balcony for the past few days to think on how the KL will look like on March 28th 2009 8:30pm-9:30pm... especially the famous KL landmark the Petronas Twin Tower... i bet the Petronas Twin Tower will be also participate in the lights out campaign so do rest of the tower in KL downtown including those important landmark etc... Will the city council also switch off all the street lights including the traffic lights ... blek!

KLCC twin tower before 12am

KLCC twin tower after 12am

Just wondered will the twin tower look like after 12am on March 28th 2009 8:30pm-9:30pm... it's an interesting question... so let's find out. I will get my equipment prepare to take some interesting shots.

I think this is a good campaign at least all the people in the world are aware on how important we need to save our earth before it's too later ... let's provide a good environment for our next generation... Let's lend a hand to help our earth.

Side Notes:
Not related with the 60 Earth Hour... i'm in Coffee Beans right now writing this entry... guess what two interesting scenario has drawn my attention.
1. A couple was seeking the consultation from a feng shui master / fortune teller on how to get their life back... and the guy whom is the fortune teller/feng shui master was carried a laptop... errrrr... so high tech! I curious how much this couple paid for their consultation... in this economy, maybe if you know Feng Shui / Fortune telling... you might be earning good money eh! :p
2. One uncle with strong BO came into the Coffee Bean... took a sit on the table besides me without buying any drinks...happily shouting on the phone with loud voice telling the other party that he has already reached Starbucks which located opposite the Secret Recipe...errrrrr.... I just gave him a weird stare! .... and i thought *uncle, this is coffee beans not starbucks... can't you differentiate ah? one brown and the other is green... Starbuck is across the road* blek~

Is your life in Risk...

I have been observing on how the Duke Highway construction from my balcony for quite sometime. The construction of the highway near Jalan Khalsa has posted lots of issue and problem to the surrounding residents... first of all, the bridging of the working hour, the stagnant water and rubbish within the construction site, the safety measure etc... For the past 2 months since the construction was picking up and the company is running against the time, all their safety measure has not been complied and got ignored... This has jeopardized the residents near the construction sites.

Take a look at the video clip below... tell me what do you think?

The crane shoot over the fence and hanging over the road... jeopardize the road users and residents...

Air pollution from the pale machine which polluted the air quality... Carbon has been released to the air and jeopardize the residents' health...

BTW, i also took some shots on the working environment...

The truck should not be going too near to the house... jeopardize the people in the house
What is in the barrel? Liquid that is flammable? Placing under the high tension wire
Closer view of the barrel... looks like some flammable petrol product...
Side view of the same size barrel... again place under high tension wire...

I would like to post a question to TNB on this scenario... is TNB allow the construction company place some barrel with liquid inside under the high tension wire? Is this comply to the TNB safety measure?

I hope the DUKE Highway construction could improve and comply to the safety so that they would not jeopardize the resident and road users life... Safety should be more important than the timeline and construction... A mistake will cost a human life... please be safe then sorry later...
