Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) - Disappointed with Organizer

Previously... TZ and friend run on the bridge and gotten their medal. Rushing over to the bus stops to grab the shuttle back to Ferry terminal. But unfortunately, with the unorganized situation on the public transport (this is not day one issue in Malaysia when talk about Public Transport), most of the runners has stuck in the runner village. The bus was approaching and those aggressive runners have squeezed themselves to stay as close as the bus even though the bus is still moving...

Crowd out of control on bus - no one in charge
 Let's zoom in...

Aggressive crowd squeeze and touch the bus as bus still moving

It took TZ and friend to ask around and figure out how to know which bus going to where, guess what? by using the oldest method - ASK. yes can't you believe that an International even the bus that ferry people to three designated points has to ask the driver.... Reminds me of kids playing the game of asking...

"Driver Driver where is this bus going"
"Driver Driver where you want to take me to... "

After 1 hour of battle with the crowd and shouted with the driver, finally TZ and friend managed to hop into a bus which bring them to KOMTAR... And basically they need to be harsh and squeeze their way through. What a joke eh~

Squeeze into the bus
There are few improvement needed especially those safety issue with near missed
Participant Park their car anywhere
The organizer allowed the participant to park their car anywhere they liked that has slowed down the feeder bus to feed the participate in/out of the runner village. This has caused thousands participants not able to get to the runner village before flagged off.

Unorganized Feeder bus
No one was assigned to orchestral the feeder bus even worst no signage on which bus went to which point. The participants have no choice but cloaked the road to ask the bus driver and some of them have no choice but pushed and squeezed into the crowd just to get into the bus. Luckily no one was under the wheel of the buses. (Extremely unsafe - BIG SAFETY ISSUE)

Timing Chip detector was not functioning
At the U-turn of 10km run, the timing chip detector was not functioning as expected due to too many participants. Not sure the detector has captured TZ's timing or not. YET to know. This has caused the runner stopped at the U-turn waiting to be detected.

Finish Line was a mess
Plenty of people standing at the finishing line to selfie, chit chatting, looking around for their friends. The participants were not able to run the last 100m to finish their run. There was no usher to control the crowd and the finishing line was not proper fenced to prevent those people whom already finished standing there to take pictures.

This is the worst marathon i haven't been, I thought WE RUN KL 2012 was bad but this is even worst, with lots of safety issues and lack of control on the crowd. Sigh~

I  was on my way to the office one morning and got this interesting scene snapshot.

If you notice in the picture, some driver has violated the law... So, what has the driving school instructor told the learner?

Haze in Kuala Lumpur (June 24th 2013)

After Malaysian famous blackout magic to make something appear from nowhere... Now, there is another magic to make the world famous icon Petronas Twin Tower disappeared...

Now you see it, now you don't...

Sunday Morning (June 23rd 2013)
Monday Morning (June 24th 2013)

Our lovely government has declared no school day on Monday i.e. today. Why can't they just do something to stop the situation? Are they not capable?

Dear PM, this is what you can do?
  1. Declare all school close for a day
  2. Declare State of emergency for those place API higher than 500
  3. Do cloud seeding and hope for rain.
If this is what you can do, i think everyone in Malaysia would have the capability to become PM... maybe they could do better than this... Our lovely PM, can you represent the nation to solve the root cause not just provide us this lousy temporary solution? Super disappointed!!! Maybe this is the different between self appointed leader and highly elected leader from the nation.

Looking at Singapore our neighbor, their DOE minister went over to Jakarta to discuss on resolution... their PM talked in the national TV and discuss the plan to get this haze resolve... but our lovely country DOE and PM. No Sight!!!... just report out the API and advice the nation. Drink more water eh~, wear masks eh~, collect masks from hospital eh~, don't eat heaty food eh~  and don't exercise outdoor eh~ etc...

How long do you think this solution can last? Please do something on the root cause not just temporary solutions... START the parliament session and discuss how to get the HAZE issue resolved LAH~

Unwanted visitor - HAZE in Singapore and Malaysia

Have you gotten any unwanted visitor who knock at your door and you tried to avoid?

There are some visitor that you could not avoid even how solid is your front door. When they start knocking on your door.... you have no way to hide from them. HAZE is the name of the unwanted visitor that we wanna talk about today...

It is a HAZY time again. Almost every year of this period. Singapore and Malaysia will encounter the haze issue. This is due to Sumatra's open burning. Few days back, Haze situation in KL is quite serious but since Wednesday afternoon the unwanted visitor just walked away from KL, maybe it got to know KL has listed as world no. 6th unsafe city to live in...

Kuala Lumpur

So where is the unwanted visitor?

Picture adapted from http://www.dailymail.co.uk
Hmmm... the unwanted visitor has gone to Singapore now.
Singapore is having the worst hazy day in history. Record high on Psi. Guess what? My friend in Singapore told me as of June 20th 2013 afternoon, the PSI indicator has shot up to 371Psi. So, it was way way over the unhealthy level.

oh no... the unwanted visitor came back to Kuala Lumpur this morning...

Hazy day - captured at 11am June 21st 2013
Dear friends in Singapore and Malaysia, please wear mask, drink more water and take a good rest. Don't fall SICK eh~

Is METROBUS in Kuala Lumpur (KL) safe?

How safe is KL public transportation? I mean buses, taxis... Anyone?

I was nearly hit by the bus at the junction of Taman Rainbow and Jalan Ipoh...

How it happen?
I stopped and waited for the traffic light to turn green so that i could turn into Jalan Ipoh. It was June 17th 2012 around 3:10pm (Sunday afternoon), there was this reckless bus driver whom driving the METROBUS BJE6767. He DID NOT STOP even the traffic lights has turned red at his side more than one minutes. He accelerated and passed through the junction super fast . Luckily, i was a bit slow this evening to go out to the main road, otherwise i would be hit by the bus and high chances might not be able to write this post as the bus will hit my car side way on where i sat. My mom and i were shocked... It was a near missed.

Dear Minister of Transportation, before you encourage people go to work by bus, go out to the city by bus, please please and please make sure the drivers of the bus are not those reckless and ignorant on people safety...

I really disappointed on what happen to the situation in Malaysia... There are so many accident cases involved buses but i didn't see the Ministry of Transportation taking any serious action. I think we really need a drastic change to make this country a better place to live... what do you think?

Mickey Mouse Fair : Who fault if accident happened?

Continue with the M.I.C.K.E.Y M.O.U.S.E post...

The parent was as excited as the children and they were cam whoring their children... they were too excited and forgo all the safety of the children. They don't care about the organizer arrangement of the exhibited Mickey Mouse Statues... The brought their children and crossed over the barrier set by the organizer. So now the question is...

WHAT IF THE MICKEY MOUSE STATUE SUDDENLY COLLAPSE ON THE CHILDREN. WHO SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE or WHOSE FAULT?

Obviously, the parent will push the responsibility to the organizer, blaming them did not setup in a safely manner... but first of all did the parent look at what they have done i.e. carried their children onto the platform where the Mickey Mouse Statue stands and cam whoring all the way...

Did you see a boy standing on the platform as the mickey mouse statue?
The boy actually cannot climb up to the platform without the parents help...
Here are another one more from the top view, we could clearly see the irresponsible parent and a responsible parents... the responsible parent only allow their children stand in front of the barrier for cam whoring... let's look at the lady with the two children on the platform...

Did you see a lady and two children whom cross the barrier and
the children were sitting under the statues...
Do you notice how dangerous this mom has performed?
So, now whose fault if accident did happened? The neglected parents or the organizers?

MOTORBIKE DON't stop on the ZEBRA

What actually wrong with picture shown above?... Hmmm.... you might not realize it if you are one of them... but if you realize, you must be a pedestrian who wanted to cross the road in the polluted metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur... But just figure out how to cross it...

I was trying to cross the road to the other side one evening... What i encountered was the difficulty to cross the road by walking in a straight line... I need to walk crisscross in order to avoid knocking down those INCONSIDERATE motorcyclist who stopped their motorbike on top of the zebra crossing.

BTW, do you know the exhaust pipe of the motorcycles/motorbike were extremely hot... you would burnt your leg if you are not careful while crossing the road. Beside it's also a safety issue for those pedestrian, what if the motorcyclist wanna to rob the pedestrian... they could do it easily while the pedestrian crossed the road.

So dearest motorcyclist... please be CONSIDERATE and DO NOT stop on the zebra... How are you going to cross the road with this situation?

AH1N1 - 56 death cases in Malaysia (Aug 14th 2009 - 8am)

The figure 56 has triggered me to think what has gone wrong in Malaysia. The reported cases has raised  over 20% which most of the country still maintain @ 10% ++ .... what i meant is the cases of H1N1 infected against the death cases... Is the citizen of Malaysia ignore on how serious is AH1N1? Or Malaysian lack of the knowledge to prevent the outbreak of AH1N1? I don't think the Malaysian were lack of the knowledge... So, what is the root cause?... What do you think?

I was a bit upset to see the death toll getting more and more... moreover, i did not see the government doing a drastic action to stop the outbreak... they still go with their own sweet pace... hey... please get some good solution to stop the death toll raising... Learnt from how Hong Kong and Singapore...

I did see some people start using the masks to cover their own... But still see someone who was sick roaming around the city... Is this a right way to do? For those who not feeling well... please DO NOT go out... stay @ home and got yourself quarantine...

Lots of question asking whether school need to be closed... What do you think?

Press the Close Button!

I nearly became sandwich after a stupid and no brainer indon maid just press a button @ the elevator... :( I was unlucky to meet this person who didn't know what is the button to hold the door.. instead she kept pressing the close button... Initially i thought she was holding the door for me to go in as i was so gentleman to let her go into the elevator first which i always do for anyone especially ladies...

As usual, when the elevator arrived, I step away from the door so that people could come out from the elevator... I was standing a bit far from the elevator door and this indon maid was standing beside me... When the elevator arrived, she quickly jumped into the elevator after the two person came out...  even though i stood nearer to the elevator door... Then i made my way going into the elevator straight after the Indon Maid went in... i saw the Indon Maid pressed a button and i assumed she was pressing the open button... so I made my step into the elevator with confident... But all of the sudden the door slammed @ me, luckily door detector has overwritten the Indon Maid action... otherwise i would not be here to blog about this ... that stupid Indon Maid, she didn't press the other button (open the door) but kept pressing the button to force the door closed... WTF? I was so unhappy and gave her an angry stared since she forced the door closed instead quickly change to open the door... she quickly pressed the floor and waited the elevator to reach her floor... "ding" ... she quickly went out when the elevator reached @ 6th floor ...

Next time if you see me not being gentlemen... please pardon me as i nearly risk my valuable life being gentlemen. Is there worth? sigh~ sigh~ sigh~

are you a selfish driver?

I have been travelling in the peak hours almost everyday for the pass three weeks ... Yayaya! not that i wanted to rumbling or ranting or complaining... just wanna to share with you my observation the drivers in KL... KL drivers are getting worst. Being a KL driver myself, I definitely not in those group that i described below... I follow the rules strictly... :p

Why i come out with the title Are you a Selfish Driver? If you have noticed the behaviour of the drivers in Malaysia or specifically in KL.... you would understand what i meant... and i bet you will somehow agreed with me... :p

A selfish driver has the following behaviour base on my observation.

1. Switching lane as they wanted especially during traffic jam. This has slow down at least two lanes of car that behind his or hers. Switch Switch Switch ... let me switch you off :p

2. Parking by the street which occupied a lane that caused the traffic jam due to other drivers need to switch lane to avoid the car that parked there. Can we call a toll truck to toll away the car and dump it into the junk... press it and recycled.... :p

3. Blocking other drivers which suppose to be able to turn into another road @ the junctions... this has made the traffic so messy... Ignorance of Yellowbox... what is the Yellowbox ? for deco only... :p

4. Driving in the inner lane with the speed of walking... is the driver driving or walking?... :p

5. Park in front of the bank with who cares attitude to do the banking... "just a few minutes"... hey that few minutes already enough to cause others inconvenience.

6. Performing acrobatic while driving ... driving with one hand on the phone the other on the food and no hand on the wheel... is it possible? okok... seriously, how many of you driving only with one hand on the wheel.. and the other hand on the phone?

7. Reversing from the parking space... "STOP!" i'm coming out... "the whole world must stop for the car to come out... especially those people that driving big and huge car... your highness even not doing it everyday... how about i drive a super tanker... looks who is harder... blek!

8. Cutting queue from the side of the road.... Shall we blame our road designer who design so much space @ the side of the road that gave the opportunities for the unconsiderate drivers to cut the queue... cut cut cut ... shall we cut your license away????...

9. Butt kissing driver happens whenever in the highway... some of the drivers just so annoying that they flash you out of the way or just as if your butt is nice to be kissed... hmmmm ... maybe they really like butts... just wondered what type of butts they like ... blek!

10. Making U-turn in the junction that will jeopardize others road users' life ... murderer!!!!!....

11. Miss one turn... hmmm... do you ever encounter cars that reverse 1km just to make a turn that they have missed... what do you think? are they murderer too?

12. Escorting the ambulance... i observed some drivers when the ambulance is coming from the back... everyone seems to give way... that this driver happily escorting the ambulance front and back by squeezing through the traffic... hmmm.... we should block the way when he or she inside the ambulance... blek!

13. Driver that go into the no entry or different direction should send back to school. they don't even understand what is the no entry sign means ... A kindergarden kids also know what is no entry sign... Shame on you!

14. Pilot on the road .... this is quite common as the selfish drivers of this type drive like a pilot... why i say pilot coz they drive in between two lane... hehehe using the dotted line as the central... like the plane running on the runway .. :p

Are you a pilot on the road?

15. "Don't drink and drive" is the slogan that you see everywhere in the world... so how many of you actually Don't drink while driving or don't drive after drinking alcohol? hmmm.....

Do you have the same experience that i had
or
you are one of the selfish driver
contributes to those inconveniences? :p

Rainy Wednesday with enjoyable gym session

I woke up at 5:30am this morning... just wanna to have a change of my daily life ... you must be thinking is there something on... appointment? Going for Bak Kut Teh in Klang again? hehehe... nope... I decided to hit the gym for 7am basic step @ FF-IoI mall.

I got a text from my friend "Wake Up! Wake Up!" @ 5:30am... and i replied "Wake up already about to give you a morning call... hehehe"... pulled my lazy ass up and hit the shower. Before hitting the shower, I walked over to the balcony and checked out the KL city view in the early morning ... it was so hazy but after a close look ... i realized it was raining outside... Sigh~ Of all the days, why mother nature wanna to pour water from the sky early morning today... really spoiled my mood to the gym ... Sigh~ sigh~ :( Anyway, no rain would stop my gym session...

The road was full of water whenever it rained cats and dogs ... cars on the road was crawling along the highway... It has been quite a while i drove in such a heavy rain... i realized it was aa challenge to drive under such heavy rain especially for the highway condition that we had in Malaysia.. see our govt spent so much money to support the development of bad quality highway. Why i say so? The water was not flowing out via the drain, most of the time the water was catch and stagnant at the edge of the fast lance in the highway. And those drivers still maintain  the recommended speed in the fast lane... So, when the car drove over the water, it splashed... One car nearly hit my car when i cruising the Putrajaya highway due to the damn pool of water... so so soooooo dangerous!!!. Highway engineers and designers, please design a highway which will not catch a pool of water on the road when it rain... we want a safer highway!

Reached FF-IOI mall after an hour challenging drove... My friend has already arrived there and was doing his cardio...  hehehe he was staying closer to IOI mall than me :p We headed to Janet's class at about 7am,  the whole class was full of Aunties as i expected... we were the only two cute guys there ... kakaka :p Since it has been long time i didn't share board with others... I suggested to share board with my friend...  He agreed since he has not had experience of sharing board. The class started with lots of turns here and there... turn until those aunties also confused... hahaha guess what? both the cute guys were able to catch all the steps that taught by Janet and in par with the speed of the instructor too... *Two Thumbs Up*

The class went through an hour... since my friend has to rush for his appointment @ 9pm... I stayed on for my own weight workout (Back, Chest, Bicep, Tricep and Abs)... I skipped Shoulder for today. After the workout,  cool down and took the shower... then headed Old Town Cafe for their set Breakfast... I ordered Set A (1 cup of Kopi-O, 2 pieces of toast with butter, 2 Omega Eggs). The total after tax was RM4.40...

Left IOI and headed back to my condo after the breakfast... caught in the jam even after 10am @ the Sungai Besi... blek! re-route to hit Jalan Loke Yew instead... So i went back with Jalan Kinabalu and Jalan Kuching. Wow! surprisingly the traffic was so smooth... As a whole it took me 1 hr plus to reach my condo. Washed up my gym clothes and i'm chilling out in the living room now... kakaka... :p

What is basic Step? since i could not find clip for Janet's class ... here is a clip that show you what is basic Step in the HeartPatrick's U-tube.

Is your life in Risk...

I have been observing on how the Duke Highway construction from my balcony for quite sometime. The construction of the highway near Jalan Khalsa has posted lots of issue and problem to the surrounding residents... first of all, the bridging of the working hour, the stagnant water and rubbish within the construction site, the safety measure etc... For the past 2 months since the construction was picking up and the company is running against the time, all their safety measure has not been complied and got ignored... This has jeopardized the residents near the construction sites.

Take a look at the video clip below... tell me what do you think?

The crane shoot over the fence and hanging over the road... jeopardize the road users and residents...

Air pollution from the pale machine which polluted the air quality... Carbon has been released to the air and jeopardize the residents' health...

BTW, i also took some shots on the working environment...

The truck should not be going too near to the house... jeopardize the people in the house
What is in the barrel? Liquid that is flammable? Placing under the high tension wire
Closer view of the barrel... looks like some flammable petrol product...
Side view of the same size barrel... again place under high tension wire...

I would like to post a question to TNB on this scenario... is TNB allow the construction company place some barrel with liquid inside under the high tension wire? Is this comply to the TNB safety measure?

I hope the DUKE Highway construction could improve and comply to the safety so that they would not jeopardize the resident and road users life... Safety should be more important than the timeline and construction... A mistake will cost a human life... please be safe then sorry later...

Dengue Fever Source?

I was attacked with Dengue Fever two weeks ago... fortunately i have a strong immunity and i just recovered from Dengue Fever after 5 days without admitted to the hospital. But until today, i still not sure where i got the mosquito bite... moreover, the dengue fever department from the health ministry did not do any investigation... Malaysia Boleh lah! i think they are waiting for the next victim... ;-)

I noticed for the past few weeks, there were lots of mosquitos @ the lobby of my condo especially late evening @ the carpark... could it be i got bitten by the mosquitos downstair @ the lobby?... so i decided to walk around my condo to look at the environment.. the cleaning company has done a good job to maintain the surrounding within the condo. No potential breeding ground for mosquitos was being discovered...

Guess what? This morning as i was testing my lens and i discovered quite a number of potential mosquitos breeding ground within/in the DUKE highway construction sites. So dangerous! the construction sites company did not even bother to take care of the residents' health and safety... creating all the potential mosquito breeding ground... :-(

look at the stagnant water, will this be the mosquitos breeding ground?

Closer view from the 1st picture... focus on the water...

Will this fulfilled the criteria for Aedes mosquitos to breed?

Closer view from the previous photo... So, what do you think?

These two pictures even shocked me...

Focus on the bunch of stuff in the middle of this picture... what is this? Look @ next picture

The DUKE highway construction company is not taking care of the environment *sigh*

Now, I really worry about all the residents in this surrounding area... who will be the next victim if i really got bitten by the Aedes Mosquitos near my condo here. I think the DUKE Highway Construction Company should clean up the rubbish and solved the stagnant water issue... Will need to let the MP's PA know about this issue...

DUKE Highway Construction Company, you are responsible to solve this immediate before the outbreak of the Dengue Fever or others diseases... We, resident need a clean and safe environment... Please don't jeopardize our life...

Is our voice heard? Is the construction safe?

The resident whom stay near to a Duta Ulu-Klang Expressway (DUKE) construction has complaint about the road crack. One of the committee member has phoned me on Monday night asking me to pay a visit and take some picture of the road cracking... at the same time, looking at the fencing which encroached half of the lane of the heavy traffic road.

Road cracking and the fencing is encroach half of the lane

I quickly took couple of picture and noticed another prompt danger point after the pillar completed. The pillar will stands @ the edge of the road i.e. just besides the road. If you take close look at the picture below, if you notice there is a junction which allow car turning out.. Whenever the car turned out... there will be high chances that the car will hit the pillar. I recorded a quick video clip when i turned out from the junction. See how dangerous :-(

Future Pillar @ the edge of the road... further up there is a junction

Close up view on how the future pillar @ the edge of the road

I was disappointed with the DUKE Highway concession as they are not taking care the environment even though the resident committee has raised this concern during the last meeting... Is our voice heard?

Moreover, I was extremely pissed with the construction site working later more 50% of the week even in a good weather like these few days. Reason being, according to the last meeting with the concession, the resident committee has raised the concern and the concession has explained that they would have to work late due to rain... But given these few days, not a single drop of rain in KL... I'm so curious what would be their excuses this time for working late... "The sun is too hot" ... hahaha very fun :-( Just to give you some information about working late... before the last meeting, they have been working day and night until 11pm and when we file a complaint, they ignored all of the resident committee's complaint call... The quiet communities has been polluted by the noise from the construction site in late night. As the noise travelled upward, the resident whom stayed in the condominium even suffered on louder noise pollution. So, what do you think?

Anyway, this is a list of serious and urgently issues/items that needed attention from the concession. Hope the concession could close these item as soon as possible since the residents have raised these issues...
1. Road crack near the construction site
2. Dirt flying @ the surrounding area
3. future pillar which will prompt to accident
4. Working late for 50% of the week in good weather

Is safety a concern?

Since the construction of Duta Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) started two months ago. There were lots of complaints and inconveniences caused by the construction of this highway in my neighborhood and the rest of the neighborhoods. Safety is always a concern from the resident near the construction area... but for the past two months, safety did not seem likes one of the focus area by the highway authority and the construction management / company.

I'm upset with all the safety caution / steps that the management have taken within the construction sites and its environment. The construction company did not take into the consideration on the safety of the resident as the heavy vehicle such as cement trucks were carrying out the load in and out from the entrance near the residential area. This entrance is the entrance that would post a life threatening to the young children whom stay in the surrounding area. Why? The cement trucks were driving throught the narrow resident road and this road is quite busy with cars, cyclists and people walking in the sideway near the houses. In additional those people whom stay in the house within the area would also risk their life as well when they reverse their car out from the yard.

Here you go the short clip that i took from my balcony...

My neighborhood was so disappointed as we had raised this up when we had the meeting with the highway authority and the construction company not to use the entrance near the residential area. I wish the highway authority and the construction company could act on this before something has happened or any of the resident life has been taken away by the heavy vehicle.

Be proactive and be safe.

Bolehland mega project in KL - Duta Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE)

Bolehland decision maker has planned on this highway two years ago... finally, the highway has come and it will be going to build near my condo... :-( I had a great concern on how safe is the highway building so close to the residential area. I strongly belief this will only happen to bolehland... if you have a chance to visit Canada, US and China... this scenery will not be seen as they make sure that all the highway will have a certain distance from the residential area. Bolehland decision maker, can we make this as a tourism place of interest?

How safe do you think if you are staying so near to the Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) [electricity] pyron?

Today, there was a case that one of the arm from the pyron fell into a house underneath it another hanging there tangling. This house has been here for nearly a decade but recently because bolehland government has approved a concessionaire to build a highway in an extremely constraint piece of land. So all the right a way has been used for the highway and the electricity pyron, what it left was nothing to the property besides this land. I'm not sure but i think the bolehland will be the first country which approve the pyron/electricity pole run parallel above the highway. What do you think? Is this safe for the road users? especially all the oil tanker... how much risk will this highway bring to the road users and the surrounding community? ... Bolehland decision maker will ignore all this safety related until something happened that involves life (20-30 people died because of some safety issue). Then they starts panic and come out all kind of fantastic explanation to answer questions ;-) This is because of mother nature ... hey mother nature, you had been blamed for taking people life you know ... what a joke right? Anyway, i would not wanna to comment too much here. Just see for yourself on some of the picture that i taken. I circled in red is the arm of the pyron.
