Nasi Ayam Periuk Besar ...

My colleague from Kulim brought me to a place for lunch after our meeting in the office yesterday. The restaurant is located in the mid of the palm oil plantation. If you are not a local @ Kulim, you would not know this place. The restaurant is called Nasi Ayam Periuk Besar. This is a very unique and special name as if i do translate into english it means big pot chicken rice.

This restaurant carries few variety of chicken in Malay style. We had three type of chicken with different type of rice too. From the tomoto rice to white rice. Basically, the place is a tropical cozy layout Malay style designed restaurant. I would recommend you to pay a visit to this restaurant if you have the opportunity to drop by Kulim. Visit the website for detail information.

Calvin: you bet... if i not mistaken they have one branch in Kemunting (not sure where it is).

Dalantau: I bet they got the inspiration from the big pot. They used the big pot to cook the rice... kind of different eh! I will ask them next time i drop by this place.

I just got back from my lunch. As usual, myself and friends went out to have lunch outside. We got bored with the same choices of stall/restaurants, so we decided to try out having lunch at this newly opened restaurant, Restoran Selera xx (can’t remember the full name, same row as D’Abadi, the restaurant is at old Nur Distribution building)
Based on my friend who resides in Kulim for quite a long time, the restaurant should be the 1st one that has a modern and attractively furnished in Kulim. Hmm, first impression does matter.
I ordered curry mee and waited for ~30mins (which is quite long to prepare for the simple meal) for it to arrive. After been eating half way (almost finished), I noticed that there’s a BIG FLY in my meal!! (Yeah, I know you guys must be feeling squeamish). Feeling like throwing up at that second, I called up the waiter to take the meal away from me. And to my surprise there were no simple apologies even from the waiter nor the cashier (not sure if she’s the manager). If in Malay and Northern dialect, we’d call them as ‘kurang hajaq!!’. Me and friends definitely won’t be going there anymore. I just want to pass this information to all of you so that you won’t be experiencing the same thing as me. Now, I really don’t feel good. Feel like vomiting…urghhh…
Oh btw , my friend experienced having a roach’s egg inside her fried rice, and surprisingly from the nearby restaurant – D’Abadi. Me and friends labeled the area as ‘black area’. DON’T EVER go and have your meal in any restaurants situated there.
PLEASE HELP TO PASS this information along.
