On eating NOT FRESH Prawn @ Phat Thai Jumbo Prawn, Chatuchak Market, Bangkok

Jumbo Prawn
Jumbo Prawn
The attractive jumbo prawn looks yummy eh~
We cannot judge the book by its cover, this is true for this LOOKS yummy prawn.

The prawn that we order
We were so happy thought that we have nice and yummy jumbo prawn to eat as I got to know this Phat Thai Jumbo Prawn place from Nat Geo People featuring Chatuchak Market. 9 big prawns cost us THB1,500. One cost about RM12 per piece... If it's fresh it still worth the money, unfortunately they served us a plate of  NOT FRESH jumbo prawn... What can we do? Complain?...

When my friend inform them on the NOT Fresh jumbo prawn, they didn't even response... this is really a very disappointed encountered in Thailand. I felt being cheated as they posted an article about they received an award for its best/famous Jumbo Prawn in JJ Market. (wondered how much they pay to get the award?)

This would be the first and the last time to visit Phat Thai @ Chatuchak Market, Bangkok for its Jumbo Prawn...

High chance to ditch my Hong Kong trip

My friends and I have planned the Hong Kong trip for months and I'm looking forward to go to Hong Kong. I never been to Hong Kong other than Hong Kong International Airport which i have been there many times. If everything runs perfectly, this trip would be after my exam for this semester i.e. Oct 21st - Oct 26th 2014.

The "Potong Stem" news came about yesterday evening during my dinner with my friend. I was a bit upset as i have given an heads up to the MBA course coordinator to ask him to ensure we do not have any exam during the Deepavali period. As a result the an unofficial schedule drop on the Oct 22nd 2014. Sad eh~

It's not that i have to celebrate Deepavali like my Indian classmate, guess what? i was the only one who concern the exam schedule... So my Indian Classmate actually kept quiet when i raised my concern, one of them even challenge me as if I'm celebrating Deepavali... I told her, i'm not but i would like to plan a getaway from the city of potholes to the Pearl of the Oriental. (City of Potholes vs Pearl of the Oriental - which is your choice?)

Now, my plan has to put on hold until the final schedule is out... The air ticket to Hong Kong is going to be more and more expensive as the departure date is getting closer... and i might have to make a call on TO GO or NOT TO GO... What would be the decision?

Worst Boss

Have you encountered Worst Boss in your career?

Picture Adapted from bitesizewellness.com
In the beginning, maybe you are thinking the boss is just a problem boss. But as time goes by... you will reconsider whether him or her is a Worst Boss... I think a worst boss is a boss that do not know how to manage and tap into his or her subordinate strength to get the best out of the employees. The boss just shut off his or her mind after some incident happen or some incorrect verdict from other employees. This kind of boss is a very tough boss to manage i.e. tough boss to work with and DO NOT EXPECT HIGH RETURN!!!

How about this scenario?

Picture Adapted from kunalashar.com

When you encountered these bosses, try to stay calm and move forward. Either trying a way to manage the boss or runaway from the Worst Boss.

I'm curious what is your definition of Worst Boss?

Aunties = Cars

I was rushing for my exam this afternoon... It's around 12pm. I was rounding for 20 mins to search for a  carpark at the public carpark besides PJ Hilton.

Bingo~ Finally i found a blue color car was ready to come out in front of me. Happily put on my signal to wait for the car to come out. Guess what? Two aunties with umbrella went to the car that were preparing to come out. Initial i thought the aunties wanted to board the car. But there were no sign the aunties going to board the car.

Upon the car came out, the aunties were hijacked my parking space by standing in the middle of the parking, reserving the carpark for her friends whom was driving the car from the other end... WTF~ It was the carpark i found before you. I asked the aunties to leave but they refused and kept pointing at the other friend of them driving the car... I shouted at them...

Me: Hey i'm not gonna to give you this parking space. Get out of my way.
Aunty: *still insist of pointing at her friend whom are driving the car at the aother side*
Me: No way i'm going to give you this. *I honk at the aunty and slowly reversed my car*
Aunty: *discuss between themselves, i couldn't hear what they say*
Me: Hey are you going to leave? * continue to reverse my car, I'm very careful make sure i don't knock into the aunty... and keep pressing the honk to draw everyone attention. Aunty have no choice but give up, walk away*

I parked my car, got down and straight to the pay machine to get the voucher for the parking and place it at the dashboard, and walked away. I don't even want to look at the them... I bet the aunties were cursing me... maybe that's why my exam got postponed. Sigh~

To the three parking space hijacking aunties,
For your own safety, please do not do this again... you were lucky that I was not intend to hurt anyone and calm enough to just shouted at you... Do you know you are so sooooo annoying and easy to agitate someone fierce enough to give you a big slap or punch you in your eyes~ Is this what you are looking for?... LoL~

Citibank VIP lane @ Cathay Cineleisure, e@Curve

I'm holding the Citibank Credit Card which claimed that you could bypass the queue and straight into their VIP priority lane. On July 6th 2013, around 6:04pm, I was approaching the counter and tried to buy the ticket. The ticket counter assistant asked me to queue up with rest of the people to get the ticket.

I was not very happy as i didn't get what Citibank has claimed to have the priority on getting the movie ticket. I asked the person... Guess what? the answer was "The Citibank VIP lane can only be used on FRIDAY" listen carefully ONLY FRIDAY... normal day you don't have such priority...

counter close for Citibank VIP lane

Has this VIP lane setup to serve its customer only on FRIDAY?

Jonker Street Night Market

Week before I visited Malacca
First is Sultan Street in Kuala Lumpur... Now Jonker Street in Malacca. What next? Terengganu ChinaTown? or Johor Bahru oldest temple? Could you please respect the culture and heritage... This group of people whom made the decision can be categories as no culture, barbarian and uncivilized... Don't you know how to appreciate and respect the diversity.

What is our lovely government thinking? Jonker walking street on Friday, Saturday are one of the main attraction for tourist from around the world to visit this walking street. It has brought a big profit to the state as it's one of the biggest walking street in Malaysia. Why killed it?

Lovely Malacca government gave a lame excuse of by shutting down the walking street it will help to ease the traffic... hey how much traffic can you ease the street is so narrow and can only let one car cross at one time. Moreover the government used how many millions to build the big highway and bridge to connect the  old town with the other side. So i suspect must be having some hidden agenda...

Anyway, it's sad to see this attractive street die down at night and what to do in Malacca at night for a weekend escape without the walking street... Sigh~

Last weekend @ Jonker Street - Business as usual

But there is no official statement saying the street will NOT re-open for traffic on Friday, Saturday. So what would be the fate of the Jonker Street Night Market. Yet to know...

Haze in Kuala Lumpur (June 24th 2013)

After Malaysian famous blackout magic to make something appear from nowhere... Now, there is another magic to make the world famous icon Petronas Twin Tower disappeared...

Now you see it, now you don't...

Sunday Morning (June 23rd 2013)
Monday Morning (June 24th 2013)

Our lovely government has declared no school day on Monday i.e. today. Why can't they just do something to stop the situation? Are they not capable?

Dear PM, this is what you can do?
  1. Declare all school close for a day
  2. Declare State of emergency for those place API higher than 500
  3. Do cloud seeding and hope for rain.
If this is what you can do, i think everyone in Malaysia would have the capability to become PM... maybe they could do better than this... Our lovely PM, can you represent the nation to solve the root cause not just provide us this lousy temporary solution? Super disappointed!!! Maybe this is the different between self appointed leader and highly elected leader from the nation.

Looking at Singapore our neighbor, their DOE minister went over to Jakarta to discuss on resolution... their PM talked in the national TV and discuss the plan to get this haze resolve... but our lovely country DOE and PM. No Sight!!!... just report out the API and advice the nation. Drink more water eh~, wear masks eh~, collect masks from hospital eh~, don't eat heaty food eh~  and don't exercise outdoor eh~ etc...

How long do you think this solution can last? Please do something on the root cause not just temporary solutions... START the parliament session and discuss how to get the HAZE issue resolved LAH~

Michelin Energy XM2 - good for Malaysia drivers?

After ran over the Malaysia Boleh potholes the night before, all the 4 tyres of my car have been replaced with Michelin Energy XM2... Nice to drive but yet to test on the wet and slippery road. Michelin has claimed that Energy XM2 are more durable, better grip and more important it's potholes resistance and tested...

Everyone knows there are so so so many 1Malaysia potholes or Malaysia Boleh potholes scattered around the city of Potholes. This is the type of tyres we should have when we drive in the city of potholes. LoL.

Picture adapted from The Star Online
Potholes @ Persiaran Surian
I found an article in Stars stated how dangerous is potholes @ Persiaran Surian, those potholes caused my tyre flatten and made me change the tyre :(  Just wonder how the lovely government going to close this issue?

Anyway, I was lucky as i was not riding a bike otherwise i would have injured and might be said goodbye to this world.

Flat Tyre

Picture from
bestestoftheday.blogspot.com
Have you gotten a flat tyre before? What would you do when you have a flat tyre?
1. Call AAM
2. Call friends to help
3. Call siblings
4. Do it yourself

Which is your answer?

I have a flat tyre on my way back from the Curve after my gym and snack last night. It was around 10pm. I was driving and suddenly i heard a very loud sound and my steering was tilt towards the left side of the car. So i quickly on the signal and stopped by the road... Oh no the tyre has just flatten.

WTH... THANKS TO MALAYSIA BOLEH POTHOLE.

Without wasting anytime, I transfered my laptop bag inside the car from the trunk, got hold of all the tools. And kick start the project.

The first thing i need to do is to locate the connector under the car to hold the Jack.

After i located the connector, i jacked up the car with the Jack and the given tools. Next was the unscrew part, unscrewing the 4 tighten nuts from the flat tyre was not an easy job. You need strength and tools. I was using leg to step, arm to pull to unscrew all 4 nuts.

Took out the flatten tyre and tried to fit the spare tyre on to the ring. The car was not high enough to place the spare tyre. So i continued to jack up the car until the spare tyre fit into the ring. Screwed the 4 nuts and made sure all the nuts were tighten. Again i have to use arm and leg to tighten the nuts. Of cause with the tools...

Anyway, it was a second workout for me and guess what? I figured out this was another type of workout which i wet my whole polo shirt and i felt the whole body muscle being worked out after i completed the project a.k.a changing the tyre.

I drove home safely "HOME SWEET HOME"

On the broken camera ...

Things happened exactly like few years back when i was in Kijal Awana... heading to a nice beach area which could take lots of nice Sunset pictures... Kaboom~ it dropped and broke....

Day before...

I was wondering whether i should bring my usual lowpro camera bag with cushion or just a sling back and place into the big bag... My decision was the sling back. Another thought came to me that should i place a sweater at the bottom of the sling bag to serve as the cushion. At the end i skipped that thought... Sigh~

On the day...

My flight was 7:25am and was a bit sleepy as i left for the airport on 4:30am. Checked-in, bought a coffee and sat @ Starbie to chill out before walking into the departure hall. When i was approaching the security check and i brought out my small camera bag from the bigger bag... my hand slipped and the bag dropped on the floor. The lens was detached from the body because one of the plastic has destroyed. I was like kept saying "Shit Shit Shit"... Anyway, I could not do anything but taking the camera with me and lot it in the safe while i was in Phuket... Sad~

Now, i need to send my baby to Nikon for repair, hopefully they won't charge me a bomb...

Folks no nice pictures from me for my Phuket Trip... I was using my Galaxy Notes to take picture only.

Is METROBUS in Kuala Lumpur (KL) safe?

How safe is KL public transportation? I mean buses, taxis... Anyone?

I was nearly hit by the bus at the junction of Taman Rainbow and Jalan Ipoh...

How it happen?
I stopped and waited for the traffic light to turn green so that i could turn into Jalan Ipoh. It was June 17th 2012 around 3:10pm (Sunday afternoon), there was this reckless bus driver whom driving the METROBUS BJE6767. He DID NOT STOP even the traffic lights has turned red at his side more than one minutes. He accelerated and passed through the junction super fast . Luckily, i was a bit slow this evening to go out to the main road, otherwise i would be hit by the bus and high chances might not be able to write this post as the bus will hit my car side way on where i sat. My mom and i were shocked... It was a near missed.

Dear Minister of Transportation, before you encourage people go to work by bus, go out to the city by bus, please please and please make sure the drivers of the bus are not those reckless and ignorant on people safety...

I really disappointed on what happen to the situation in Malaysia... There are so many accident cases involved buses but i didn't see the Ministry of Transportation taking any serious action. I think we really need a drastic change to make this country a better place to live... what do you think?

Two Pandas loan from China

The Stars newspaper published on June 11th 2012 7:11pm - "China to loan two pandas to Malaysia for 10 years". According to the news, it will bring good to Malaysia for
  • The Stars : To get better relationship between Malaysia and China in order to bring more China investor to Malaysia and boast our lovely country economic
    • TZ : How much our lovely country needs to invest to host the pandas and what is the Return on Investment (ROI). Is this worth to invest?
  • The Starts : To enable Malaysia to conduct conservation research on the giant panda
    • TZ:  I don't see any benefit in Malaysia as we don't have pandas. If the lovely government stated to conduct conservation research on Malaya Sun Bear. Then i still see some benefit to the scientists and the nations. BTW, if they wanna study Panda, why can't the country send the selected scientists over to China, i bet the expenses will be way lower than hosting the two pandas.
  • The Stars : Promote public awareness on Panda conservation undertaken by China.
    • TZ : I don't see any benefit to Malaysia and its people.
  • The Stars : Encourage the public to appreciate and learn the importance of biodiversity and wildlife conservation of Malaysia.
    • TZ : There are many more Wildlife in Malaysia needed funding to setup conservation.. Why not promoting helping these wildlife e.g. Malaya Sun Bear... how many of you know that the Malaya Sun bear actually originated from Malaysia/Borneo. I believe the Sun Bear conservation would also be able to encourage the public to appreciate and learn the importance of wildlife conservation of Malaysia. But very sad these wildlife conservation do not get as much funding as our lovely government plans to spend on the two pandas.
In this case, I'm really disappointed how our lovely government plan to use our hard earned money aka tax payer money to fund the unnecessary items which DO NOT BENEFIT the nation. There are lots more that we need funding but never gotten any... Sigh~

Road Tax sticker - Quality Degraded...

Have you ever faced this issue?

The road tax sticker sticked on the windshield and refused to be off after one year... I really got pissed when need to tear this bit by bit. I spent 1/2 hours to peel the sticker out from the windshield, unfortunately could not peel off all those sticky sticker, i have no choice to leave some unpeel sticker on the windshield and stick the new one on top...

I'm still remember the first year when they introduced this sticker... the following year was so easy to peel off but now year over year... It's getting tougher and tougher to peel out the old road tax. Now i understand why some people just stick besides the old road tax. Difficult to take out...

I'm not sure how do you feel about the Road Tax sticker quality... but for me, I feel the quality has degraded year over year. Why? maybe the cost has gone up and our lovely Transportation Ministry is paying peanut to the manufacturer. As a result, the manufacturer has no choice but to cut cost and provide the 2nd or 3rd grade quality sticker instead... Is this the real situation?

Anyway, will see what would happen for the current new road tax... Am i having the same problem or worst next year? Let's monitor for another year :p

Anyway, do you face this issue?

Knock Knock... Knock Knock...

Pic fr the hard way
Knocking sound... stop a while.... metal sound... Stop a while... Knocking sound again... getting stronger and stronger and stronger... I looked at the clock it's 10pm at night... Who the Hell is this inconsiderate person who is so excited to hammering on Sunday night...

My mom has slept, my direct neighbor has slept too but unfortunately was waken up by this hammering sound... I tried to contact the security but the intercom in my unit was not working... hmmm one more thing to request to fix when visiting the management office.

Anyway, let's get back to the hammering case... My neighbor was extremely angry and unhappy cause she has a daughter that need to go to school tomorrow morning and she needs to wake up early to prepare breakfast, so she needs some sleep. Same goes to my mom...

I was about to go downstair to get the guard. Guess what? the guard has settled them after my neighbor complained. Such as inconsiderate person... you have no rights to take away our sleep... GOD knows who did it and don't blame anyone if you got hammered by HIM...

Faulty TRANSCEND SD card ... Reliable?

Last weekend when i was happily filming the Hornbill Feeding... all of the sudden, my camera malfunction and giving me an error indicator on my card deck number 2. This is deck which store the card for video clips.

So guess what card i was using?

Yes! I'm using Transcend and this card was NOT cheap... it costs me RM195 for a 16GB where as the reliable ScanDisk only cost RM160.

Why i purchase this card?
The lady from FotoFlash KLCC who sold me the camera has confidently mentioned Transcend is a reliable SD card brand and a lot of people using it. Since i have no time to shop for my SD card. I decided to give it a try... I bought this card on August few days before my Vietnam trip and guess what on Nov the card just corrupted. Not even three months. This is so called RELIABLE...

So do you think it's reliable? No... No... No....
I wanna to shout out ... "THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT RELIABLE..." Lady in FotoFlash please don't recommend this brand to other camera owner in the future... now i don't know whether all my nice photo are able to recover :(

I went into the Transcend facebook to get some contact for after service... By reading all the wall post, I realized that there were so many complaints and their after service seems like not very good too. Anyway, I will only send my card for repair when i come back from my Thailand trip. I definitely will NOT going to try out any other brand except ScanDisk. I don't want to risk my nice photo in those unreliable SD card.

To be continue ...

Near miss

Last Thursday, it was raining heavily in the evening. By the time i was heading home, there were still drizzling and the road was full of running water. That day, I skipped gym as i was tired and promised my mom to go back for dinner.

Since i was not heading to FF-1MK, I used the non-Toll road which is Jalan Istana. If you have been to Jalan Istana before, you will know how the road looks like... There's a lots of curves in and out. I was happily cruising in the fast lane and didn't notice i was driving quite fast. Suddenly the front car pressing the emergency brake. And immediately i pressed mine. I forgot the road was full of water, as i pressed mine, my car slip out from the fast lane and nearly hit the car besides me. I thought i'm gonna hit the car besides me but luckily i was quick enough to pull back my steering to the other side and I ended up clashing my car into the side of the road.

Car was slightly damage at the bottom, I was in shocked... I was so soooo soooo lucky that i didn't hit any cars... =.="

So folks, do drive slowly during this rainy season eh~

Coffee Bean become a noisy market...

I was waiting for my parent as they were in the wedding dinner @ the Concorde hotel nearby. I was happily chosen a nice and quiet place for the first 1.5 hours. The music and the air conditioner were just right. The place was quiet...

Then there was this staff's friend came in and sat on the table besides me. He was happily got a drink from the staff (not sure it's free or not but i belief so... ) Anyway, the drink was secondary... the main thing i would like to call out over here was his action. He on his lappie speakers so loud and watch those concert which giving out noise... you know the lappie speakers were not that good... so you could imagine the noise together with the music played in CB... Really turned the place into noise instead of nice and soft music.

Picture adapted from ohmyapt.apartmentratings.com

It has been irritated me for an hour until i could not stand as he turned up the volume higher and higher... like no body business. I was not happy and kept turning towards him and gave him a stare. He never took any action and pretended he never see me. Then i about to make a complaint i think he sensed it. He turned down the volume a bit...

Anyway, i stopped my intention to compliant and sat there to write this post :p

Don't 阻着个地球转

阻着个地球转 - please use cantonese to read out this 6 chinese characters.

I was in a hurry to office yesterday morning to catch my morning tele-conferencing (a.k.a meeting). The journey from my house to office usually takes me around 45 mins without jam.

Picture adapted from jalopnik.com
Guess what? when i was on the fast lane @ MEX highway, there was this slow driver with a signal and immediately came into my lane and moving like 50KM/hr in the fastest lane. As i was hurry, i flashed the driver but no action taken. The driver continued to drive 50km/hr. So as a result, i switched to the middle lane. Guess what? the driver put a signal an into my lane again with the slow speed. Sigh~ The slow driver was back to the middle lane and in front of me :( Why he wanted to switch back to middle lane? hehehe.. this was due to there was a car going very close to his car. Forcing him out from the fast lane. He has no choice but to left the fast lane.

I was frustrated and tried to force the car to go into the slowest lane but unfortunately he still taking his own sweet time to drive on the middle lane. Hey dude, don't 阻着个地球转 eh~

Okay now what is the meaning of 阻着个地球转? This cantonese saying means that please do not prevent the earth to rotate. Indirectly asking people NOT to block the way.
