Restart blogging over a booze

It has been a while i went out to booze with my friend on Saturday Night.

I met up a blogger friend of mine in Solaris Mont Kiara for Yamcha session. Initially, booze was not in our agenda as we just wanna to have some cake and non-alcohol drinks. When we finished the chatting, cakes and drinks at Bene Caffe. We decided to walk around...

Guess what? We came across the SaltLick @ Soho KL. There was a live band called Chemistry was singing the song that my friend like. As the person like booze booze... we will not hesitate to walk into the pub and sat down.

Since i promised my mama not to booze so i ordered a TEA which is slightly long.

During the drink, all of the sudden, i got the inspiration of restart my blog and i told this blogger friend of mine. Here you go ... the 5 Elements of My life restart on Aug 6th 2017.

We left the place after finished our 2nd drink...

Last Friday, my friend invited me to join him for dinner with couple of mutual friends at The Moon Bar Kuala Lumpur. It's a restaurant and bar. After 9pm, the restaurant turned into bar with the Jazz performance. We were there for dinner and i ordered the Pork Burger... Yes~ they served Pork dishes.

Prometheus @ TGV Club Sunway Pyramid

Last Saturday night or should i say last Sunday... why? Cause the movie starts @ 12:30am.

Last Sunday early morning, I was watching the Prometheus with my friends @ TGV Club Sunway Pyramid. The movie ticket is RM25 per pax. Yup! it's expensive so i always have a thought that it's overrated and not value for money.

Anyway, the different between the TGV Club and the normal TGV cinema is
  1. No need to line up for tickets.
  2. No need to standing around the entrance waiting for the number to be light up.
  3. No need to line up for food and drinks. Just order and the food/drink will be served.
  4. More room for leg and the seat is more comfortable.
  5. The price of cause is more expensive, it's double the normal TGV cinema.
  6. No kiddos shouting "mama this, papa that"... I wondered how much is the ticket for kiddo.
When we arrived, the cinema was not ready... We were waiting at the designated lounge. It's so quiet. No wonder my friend told me after i tried it first time, i will like the TGV Club... It's true i love it already...

TGV Club lounge
Okay enough of TGV Club... back to the Prometheus... I don't really enjoy the movie as i don't really like those movie with disgusting and darker scenes like the previous movie Aliens#1,2,3... so on. So the Prometheus is about the same scene as Aliens. I don't want to be a spoiler, i know a lot of you might not have watched this movie...

I got mixed comments on this movie from friends before and after i watched, so not sure whether it's recommended or not. Anyhow, this is just not my cup of tea... the only thing i enjoyed is the graphic... not to mention the nice TGV Club environment :p

So no more happy hour...  Guess what? The meeting was postponed 3 minutes before the start time ... :@ And the new date/time is April 20th 2012 9-10pm. Last weekend of February...

The Last weekend of February celebrated with lots of food and drinks...

Saturday Feb 25th 2012:  I drove to Klang for a crabby night out. The tasty crab in Bagan Hainam @ Port Klang. Before the dinner, we worked out @ Klang Bukit Tinggi gym to lose some calories in order to have the nice food without guilt.

At around 7 something, we met the other friend of mine in whom stay in Klang. A 45 mins drive from KBT towards the Hainam village. During the journey, we were catching up with each others.

We ordered three dishes, one pork stew fried noodles, one mantis prawn and three baked crab (each of us one).

Three baked crab
After we finished the crab, i was not satisfied and later we ordered another crabby dish. This time, we ordered steam Crab with Roe... yum yum...

Steam Crab with Roe
We ended up with a total RM180 for 5 crabs, one dish of mantis prawn, one pork stew fried noodles, two bottles of Tiger Beer. 1 watermelon juice... Quite reasonable eh~

Sunday Feb 26th 2012: At around 4pm, my mom and I went to my uncles place. My uncle has invited us over and he has prepared spaghetti. My the other aunty bought the famous Seremban Siew Pau and the crispy pork (Siew york). We had a simple dinner. Together with the dinner, my uncle has opened a few bottles of wine. We were sitting in the living room drinking wine from 4pm - 10pm while outside was raining... Uncle kept opening different types of wine i.e. wine from New Zealand, Argentina. My uncle decided to open this bottle of wine on my aunty request (his wife).

20 years old Late Harvest Wine
Unfortunately the label was destroyed and we could not determine the exact name of the wine. And my uncle has forgot the name. This wine is categories as sweetness and it's a late harvest wine. This wine was in my uncle's collection for nearly 20 years. it's a very very nice wine. The wine smell good and the sweetness of the wine is purely came from grapes. I like it so much ...

That's all for my final weekend of Feb 2012...
Looking forward for another wine tasting gathering *wink

Breakfast @ Yut Kee 镒记

Hey don't be mistaken Breakfast @ Yut Kee is one of the Malaysia made film eh~ Cause we have a famous movie named Breakfast @ Tiffany.

Anyway, two weekend ago, I was having breakfast with three bloggers friends of mine @Yut Kee, the 70 years old business yet going strong. Okay, so now you may figure what is Yut Kee...

The Front - People is lining up
A typical old Kopitiam... no aircon... people lining up waiting to be seated... this place is full house during lunch everyday. So you could imagine how good is the business. That's why the owner claimed in the newspaper. 70 years old shop yet still going strong :p

Old is gold kind of layout - A typical old Kopitiam
So what make it so strong? Their juicy, yummy food... Their great and efficient waiters... And a good and fast commander shouting to arrange and serve the customers with the available seat in the cashier counter.

Anyway, what is their signature dish? We ordered one Roti Babi for sharing...

Roti Babi - Where is the Babi?
Can you see the Babi?
My friend and I ordered Pork Chop while the other two friends order Chicken Chop and fried glass noodles.

Fried Glass Noodles
The Pork Chop - Wanna see how juicy is the chop?
Are you hungry now?
Many of you might be asking where is Yut Kee... It's located @ Jalan Dang Wangi, downtown KL (map). You should pay a visit and taste the 70 years old recipe :)

My friend text me...
Text --> Hey wana hv din wt .... 6:30pm 2moro at Bandar Puteri?

I accept the invitation but not sure where were we going... only know somewhere in Puchong.

On the Day
I had made an appointment and went for my hairdo @ Shawn Cutler, Bangsar. Didn't get my friend's text regarding the dinner venue. So i text him. He replied...
Text --> A Wet Thai Restaurant, b puteri. It is in google.

To my disappointment, I could not find the A Wet Thai Cafe in Bandar Puteri in the Google Map. The result shown Cheras. Later, i went into some food blog and found the full address. Type it to the Google Map and found the exact location.

The timing was so perfect. I reached there same time as my friend as i saw them while they are in the carpark. We sat down and my friend started the ordering... I was glad that i don't need to order. Few minutes later we were done with the order.

So any idea what we have ordered?...
The whole table was full of food but the amount was just nice for 4 person.

Pineapple fried Rice, Paku Pakis, Tom Yam, Green Curry Chicken

Yummy Pork Neck dish

Happy New Year...

The finale of the firework display in The Curve...

Anyway, I have to say a lot of Malaysian still in the developing mindset which sometime don't even take care of the environment... This is a very sad scene.

One day we should take some picture of before and after the party to see how much rubbish got left over in the event location. Another one more thing that i noticed was the event planner did not provide sufficient rubbish bin for people to throw those rubbish... So people just simply throw on the floor... throw it to the Flower Pot and so on...

May the year 2011 be the year for us to start saving our environment...

Happy New Year Everyone
Please do not litter
Use the TONG SAMPAH please.

NEW YEARS EVE - Dinner and Karaoke

Lots of people will attending the gala dinner which consist of Dinner and Dance... I wanna to have a different type of new years eve dinner ... The Dinner + Karaoke...

How to have dinner + karaoke? I'm a shy person and will not sing on the stage.. not even in the bathroom. So the dinner + karaoke is actually singing inside the box painted in RED. Okay it's...

After shopping for restaurant in the Curve, most of the restaurant have prepared the New Year's Eve dinner set which charging their customers sky high price. For instance, Tony Roma's is charging RM79.90++ for a 4 course meal while TGIF is charging roughly the same price... Sigh~

So at the end, we decided to have a different way of having dinner... We will have dinner and karaoke @ REDBOX the Curve. I'm looking forward to this Friday as this is the first time to sing together with this group of friends.

So, what's your New Year's Eve plan? Where are you going to have dinner?

Robinhood : Trying to be

Few weeks back, I was @ Eagle Ranch Resort with a few bloggers. We spent overnight in this resort which gave me the opportunities to ride a horse, drive a go kart, kayaking and last but not least... trying to be Robin hood.

This was my very first Archery session... I never tried this sport before. So i was excited to hold the bow and placed the arrow on the bow. And imagine myself as Robin Hood... Oh forgot to get a feather and place it on my bandana ~wink~

Day #1 - Stylish eh~ (ada gaya)

After 2 practice sessions, finally i got the satisfied result. I don't mind going for another Archery session in the near future.

Cari Makan @ Kuala Lumpur: La Risata

I got to know this restaurant from Bahija as we went to this restaurant for our dinner last night. This Restaurant located @ Damansara Heights. So it's not far away from our place. The restaurant is hiding @ the residential area. It's the row behind Victoria Station DH.

We were the first customer and we were greeted. After settled with our orders, Bahija and I was chatting and catching up since we haven't met for months.

Starter : Bread with olive spread

RAVIOLI DI PESCE

Pizza with Mussel ( think of Sarawakian Fried Oyster Egg)

Zuppa Di Pesce

The food is good but unfortunately all the food served at the same time. Some of the food has already cold when we wanted to eat... we were taking our time and chatting. The Zuppa Di Pesce should be nice if it's still hot. So if you happen to go there, ask them to slow down the serving.

The customer service was not as impress as the environment. I felt like they were chasing us away, they did not refill our water and when we asked for the check, we have to asked a few times only we got their attention.

Summary Rating:
First Impression (greeting customer) : 4/5
Ambience (table setting, environment) : 4/5
Customer Service (Serving food, response to customer request) : 2/5
Food & baverage (taste, quality, value for money) : 2.5/5
Overall rating : 2.5/ 5

Bahija, thanks for the nice dinner.

61-1227 - 3 2 square Starbie

Two Sunday ago, i wanna to explore a new place in Klang Valley... Yup, a new place for me but might not be a new place for some of you... it's has been a landmark in PJ quite sometime ago... This is a business park called Three 2 square... Have you heard about it?

My friend and i was having lunch over in Boston @ this place

After lunch i saw the Starbie @ the corner and i was so excited to mark my 61st outlet before end of year 2009. Yup! It was my last marking of Starbie in the year. This Starbie is quite big and spacious... at least it's bigger than the outlet @ Jaya-One. The Starbie in fact was very quiet too when we were there.

Okay! Let's forward to Jan 9th 2010... As you know i go to FF Maxis for pilate every Saturday... so i went today for the class too. After the class, we headed to the curve for a quick lunch and headed over to the Starbie @ Borders for some coffee and spent my first relaxing Saturday after a whole week of busy work... Guess what? i met the first blogger in Year 2010... I met Jay Tee who is the medical student base in Sabah now... :)

@ about 6:45pm... we left the place and headed home ;p

Cari Makan @ Kuala Lumpur: California Pizza Kitchen (CPK)

December 31st 2009, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. The last dinner of the year was also our last 2009 blogger gathering. One of the blogger has organized this event @ this popular California Pizza Kitchen (CPK).

We arrived @ 8pm, we quoted the organizer name and the lady manager sent her assistant to let us know they don't have a table for 12... so we called up the organizer whom were on his way. After a bit of hooha... they finally setting up tables for us. The next thing we realized that they were combining three round tables to make up a big table for us... and a couples of chairs... what surprised me was the two stools was slotted in and it became part of the chair.

Hawker food center table setting in a Full Service Restaurant

Hmm... first thing came into my mind... Is this a new theme that California Pizza Kitchen has for Twenty Ten? "A HOMEY MEAL: Make your self @ Home" ... new setup for its guest... even our house table and chair is way way better than this...

Blogger A: Wow! they actually setup like our canteen table...
Blogger B: Is there any chance that we could get a table inside?
Manager : Even you wait we couldn't get you a table for 10 people. You might have to sit separately.
Me: Now. how could you give this setup for us? *pointing to the two stools*
Manager: *Angrily shouting* The chair can be changed.

Then she walked back into the restaurant and left us outside the restaurant... BTW, is this how a Full Service Restaurant Manager treated their customers... Later, i saw them taking out two chairs and replace the stools with the chairs...

Since our organizer agreed to take whatever we could get... we accepted the table... Guess what? straight after we sat down... there were a group of 10 peoples (mix of Caucasion and non-caucasion) walked in and requesting for a table... The front desk staff registered one of their name into the list and asking the group to sit @ the sofa beside the front desk to wait for their table... Later, the staff ushered the group to walk into the restaurant for their table. I straightaway felt that we were cheated and discriminated over what the manager told us earlier ... she was lying or what?... can i say that the restaurant management is racist too?

Let's fast forward to the food & baverage, I ordered a cocktail for my drink which i would say it should be listed in the Mocktail session under the menu... No alcohol taste at all, just sugar water and got charged for RM18++ ... sigh~... The food on the other hand was so dissatisfied... it was so sooo salty... Especially the Garlic Noodles was salty and oily too... it was nice on my last visit but really disappointed... Maybe you could argue that this was not their specialty... hmmm.... the pizza we ordered was NOT good... NOT cheezy and it tasted salty too.

Anyway, there is ONE LITTLE good things that i would like to mention over here. One of the staff (i should have asked him for his name) was very responsive towards his customer requests... I requested Parmesan cheese... and... the next thing i knew... the cheese was on the table... I thought it would take forever or even better NOT appear on the table given we encountered such a bad first impression of their customers service... ;p

Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone... three words to describe DISAPPOINTED, BAD customers service and NOT VALUE for money... We spent around RM500 for 10 person dinner in this SELF-CLAIMED Full Service Restaurant... which i was not convinced.

Summary rating:
First Impression (greeting customer) : 0/5
Ambience (table setting, environment) : 0/5
Customer Service (Serving food, response to customer request) : 0.5 /5
Food & baverage (taste, quality, value for money) : 0 /5
Overall rating : 0.5 / 5

NOT RECOMENDED

Countdown Twenty Ten...

As i mentioned earlier, this year i was having the opportunities to get myself down to the base of the KLCC to view the so called splendid fireworks... errrr.... yup a countdown gathering

Flashback Dec 31st 2008, i was taking fireworks pictures from my balcony and i consolidated into this clip...

Flashback Dec 31st 2009, We have a small blogger gathering to leap over to twenty ten... during our dinner, we were talking about what were we doing on Dec 31st 2008... hehehe... i told them i was taking picture on my balcony... but one of the blogger said there were no countdown on 2008 to 2009 in KL... later i asked them to check my picture on the net... :p

Anyway, it was a nice dinner on the whole despite of the hiccup before the dinner between us and the restaurant manger (will tell u more about this in the future post). After dinner we went around KLCC park to secure a nice spot for view the "splendid" fireworks display... Due to the amazing crowded crowd in the KLCC park, we decided to walk away from the center of the crowd and settle @ the road near Isetan. This was the first time i sitting like that...

Picture taken by Jerry, copy from Medie007

When we sat there, we saw the wave of people kept walking towards the KLCC park direction... I got two snapshots using my Canon Powershots.. you must be wondering where is my Nikon D70... hehehe... i was too lazy to bring my camera and tripod. Tough to take care my baby... :p

Ten, Nine, Eight... Three, Two, One... Happy New Year... We hardly could heard the countdown and suddenly what we heard was people scream followed by the fireworks...

Damn! My battery gone off after 50 sec of recording... I didn't have any backup... i have no choice but to switch the recording from the camera to TZ's memory... Unfortunately, i could not show what has been captured in TZ memory over this post... if not it will be interesting... Anyway, it was a great countdown 2010 with my fellow bloggers.

Dec 31st 2010, ***blank*** (will fill in the blank later), wanna to find out what would be filled in this blank? Stay tune for a year eh~

Happy Twenty Ten
very big thanks for the blogger that organize this event
