Queue for food

Last weekend when i was in Malacca, i saw an unusual scene in front of two Chicken Rice Shops

Was there a free lunch? Nope, in fact it was the tourist that went to Malacca and wanted to taste the popular Chicken Rice Ball. My friend and i decided to give these shops a pass for this round. The shop that we usually visit is Chung Wah (refer to the first picture) which claimed that the first Chicken Rice Ball shop.

So, what is Chicken Rice Ball?

It's actually the Hainanese steam chicken and the rice. The different is the rice they made it to a ball. But if you haven't tried this chicken rice before, it's worth to give it a try.

I got a new challenge

And i got it...

When you are giving a mission to clean the messy street, the messy apartment or the mess in the office, what would you do? Will you hire a cleaner to clean the mess? Or you will attempt to clean it yourself? What is your say? I know your question will be do i have a choice?

How about project? What would you do?
I'm not sure whether i'm lucky or not? I always got a project which is a mess and challenging to make the project up and running with the expected timeline. Usually the project team has no other option but just need to move forward and patch along the way.

My boss has recently assigned me to a project which need some clean up and lots of stakeholders from external parties. A lot of my time spent in observation and understand the process. Meeting over meeting to the roadblock and assist the existing project manage to take away them. Am i the cleaner in this situation?

From my past experience, i always got this kind of project... Go into the project halfway or the project has failed in the first phase etc... It's a steep learning curve for everything. But i like this kind of challenging job which i could brush up my soft skill. And I like the moment of getting the project back on track :p

Okay enough of ranting, gotta go down to the battlefield with armor. Lot of mess waiting for TZ. Anyone can spare me a broom? *wink*

who is SALT? - Angelina Jolie

Guy: Sir, are you interested to watch this movie?

Me: *stunt and stare @ him* hmmm....
Guy: It's free and it's the movie SALT.
Me: *accept the free ticket* oh SALT. *a big smile*
Guy: The movie already started... you can proceed to Hall 1 now. It's free seating.
Me: Thanks. *Excited*

Then the guy walked away to others patrons. I was not sure was I lucky or what? My friend and I got an offer from a stranger to a special screening of the movie SALT by Angelina Jolie.

Okay, I'm not going to be the spoiler of the movie but it's worth to watch. I couldn't belief how superb is the Russian spy until i watched this movie. So what would be the fate of Angelina Jolie in this movie SALT. Just hit the cinema on July 29th 2010 eh~

Again, this is an America movie, so now what is the message behind the movie... watch it and share with us eh~

Nice to Eat

what is nice to eat?

I bet most of the Malaysians see this will start drooling over it. But for a foreigner which not get use to the smell, they say it's a stingy fruit. A costa rican say it's man's armpit smell. So if people ask you to describe how Durian smell? What would your answer?

Anyway it's nice to eat but once TZ eat this, he will usually get sick with a sore throat as a start follow by fever etc... Any method to reduce the chance of getting sick?

Cari Makan @ Kuala Lumpur: La Risata

I got to know this restaurant from Bahija as we went to this restaurant for our dinner last night. This Restaurant located @ Damansara Heights. So it's not far away from our place. The restaurant is hiding @ the residential area. It's the row behind Victoria Station DH.

We were the first customer and we were greeted. After settled with our orders, Bahija and I was chatting and catching up since we haven't met for months.

Starter : Bread with olive spread

RAVIOLI DI PESCE

Pizza with Mussel ( think of Sarawakian Fried Oyster Egg)

Zuppa Di Pesce

The food is good but unfortunately all the food served at the same time. Some of the food has already cold when we wanted to eat... we were taking our time and chatting. The Zuppa Di Pesce should be nice if it's still hot. So if you happen to go there, ask them to slow down the serving.

The customer service was not as impress as the environment. I felt like they were chasing us away, they did not refill our water and when we asked for the check, we have to asked a few times only we got their attention.

Summary Rating:
First Impression (greeting customer) : 4/5
Ambience (table setting, environment) : 4/5
Customer Service (Serving food, response to customer request) : 2/5
Food & baverage (taste, quality, value for money) : 2.5/5
Overall rating : 2.5/ 5

Bahija, thanks for the nice dinner.

5 cents per liter poorer

Friend : got sms rumors spreadin, petrol increase 5cent tonight. Believe or not, up to you?

Me: is the sms coming from Paul?
Friend: Nope.
Me: hmmm... I think it is not going to happen...
Friend: Why Paul? we should believe the big sucker...
Me: big sucker? How could we trust his word?
Friend: Why can't
Me: He like to twist and turn... Say one thing, action shows the other... so how could we trust him?
Friend: Yalor... let's see whether he will increase 5cents.
Me: I think he will... I really lost faith on him... sigh~ Change needed la~

This morning, when i read the newspaper "Govt’s bold move will have minimal impact on people" Ya right! What bold move? Cut the subsidy of Petrol and Sugar in case you don't know. Now everyone will have 5 cents per liter poorer than before and not sure how much is a teh tarik (pull tea) going to cost since sugar subsidy is also cut.

So what would you say?

Anyway, i wish our lovely govt uses the money wisely... not to build those white elephants or spend them like water...

Official iPhone user...

Two months back

Guess what? TZ just got his iPhone white color last night.

It was having a jam when i hit Jalan Duta. So i decided to detour to the nearest Digi specialized store to check my luck. I was so lucky to have the iPhone.

Within 1 hour, Digi managed to switch my prepaid to postpaid, activated and i was keying in my phone book into the new phone from A-Z. It's fun to have an iPhone but from today onwards i'm owing the bank money for the next 24 months :'( .

I'm learning on how to use iPhone. Anyone can provide tutorial class for iPhone?

Me: I'm going for RPM... and it's a exercise class in Fitness Firat.
Engineer: Oh! It's exercise class in Fitness First. I thought you are going for cycling professional class (learn how to cycle).
Me: *eye rolling* errrrr... why i need to learn how to cycle? Anyway, i'm going for RPM Endurance class.
Engineer: What is the different between RPM and RPM endurance.

World Cup 2010 is over...

World Cup finally over... so lots of people have to move on the life without balls. For those people who gamble and win a big money. How are you going to spend it? For those who gamble and lose, now need to find a way to pay the debts... please don't do it again. If you wanna to gamble, please trust Paul...

Anyway, how much do you spend for the whole football fever during this past whole month? For me, i didn't even spend a single cent on any of the football night out. Actually i only went once with my boss to watch the NED vs BRA game. And this night out was covered by my boss.

Tagged by Manglish

i nearly forgot i still owed Manglish a tagged which i need to reply... the 7 random things about me. What should i write, it's so random that nothing come out from my thinking cap.

Anyway, here you go the 7 Random things about TZ

#1: TZ likes to travel around the world and taking pictures of different places. He has a picture blog that might have been ignored by himself coz not much update. What is his picture blog? A picture A day.

#2: TZ has been tagged as a weird traveller. First, he went to Uganda which Twilight made some nice native icon represent TZ during Xmas 2008. Visit Twilight's snowman. And recently TZ just got back from Iran which not many people visited this country. It's a sanction country... Everything being restricted. What next?

#3: TZ has addicted to study, taking exam and get himself certified. So far he has certified SAP ABAP consultant, he got certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), he completed CPIM (3 out of 5 papers. What next? He is going for certification on Project Management Professional (PMP). Hmmm... i wondered what next for year 2011?

#4: Starbucks is TZ's favorite hang out place. He called Starbucks as Starbie. How he got this name? Once upon a time... blah blah blah... Okay, he has a friend who name picture as piccie, laptop as lappie... then he got this idea and name Starbucks as Starbie. TZ keeps track how many starbie that he has visited and blogged about them.. So far he has been to 70+ outlets around Malaysia and some outside the country too. More to go...

#5: TZ not fancy on sport especially Football but recently he caught the fever as what others have... he has shown interest on the World Cup 2010. He also very interested on what Paul's prediction... Do you think Paul really has the power of prediction? *Note: this is Paul the octopus not Paul the RPM, BP, goer.

#6: TZ used to be called Gym bunny but recently he is no longer has the title. *sob sob* Why Someone has taken away the title from him. Do you know who is gym bunny now?

#7: All past event of TZ has archived in 5 Elements of My Life and of coz more to come in the future. So stay tune eh~

That's all folks... I gotta to hit the book now. Exam is coming...

On spending evening @ NVMC

Where is NVMC? I don't think you would visit this place for no reason even though it's a very nice building with nice decoration like 5 stars hotel. So what is NVMC? NVMC = Nirvana Memorial Center.

My first time to NVMC... it was amazingly, nicely decorated compare to those old and run down memorial center in KL. The moment you walk into the lobby. You felt like you were in a 5 stars hotel... ya right~ A 5 stars hotel for the decease. I don't know how to describe but i think it has shift the impression of those eerie, scary and uncomfortable old memorial / funeral house.

Ok~ you must be wondering of all the places why TZ was there yesterday evening? Actually, I went for my aunt's memorial. My aunty has passed away Wednesday night. My parent and I together with all my relatives were at the memorial center to pay the last respect and we spent the whole evening in the center.

Today is the funeral and unfortunately i could not attend due to work...

Another few hours to go ... Germany will play with Spain. So what Paul has to say?

So, do you believe Paul the octopus?

One more Certification for TZ

It's the month of July 2010... my plan is to get one certification this year... I only left another 5 months. So need to start studying again and get this done.

I was taking out my PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge) to study and realized that they are so many chapters to study. Given i have a busy schedule recently, i think i need to rearrange my schedule and focus on getting the certification.... Yes! I must get this certification before end of the year.

After i got this certification, I would have APICS CSCP and PMI PMP in my card... so what would be my next plan? hmmm.... haven't had the solid plan to share yet.

Anyway, wish me luck eh~

Argentina vs Germany - who will be the winner?

Everyone is doing their own prediction on who is going to win for the game Argentina vs Germany... So which team do you think will win?

What do you think about Paul say?...

There are so many reports regarding how accurate Paul predictions but there is another report regarding the life saving dolphin Sayco in Argentina say differently... the dolphin in Mar del Plata, Argentina has made his choice by hopping one of two country - colored balls. He chose the blue and white ball.

So now who would you believe? Paul the octopus or Sayco the dolphin or yourself?
Who will win ? Argentina or Germany
What is your score for today match?

Ned vs Bra

My boss has organized a football team building with his team last night. This is not really an official team building, just a night out on drink and balls. BTW, this is the first match that i really watched from the beginning till the end.

I posted a status update on my facebook

TZ is watching football with his boss and the rest of his colleagues :p
My friend added comment : I'm gonna buy the lottery tomoro! wakakaka

So anyone wanna to buy lottery or 4D today? the lucky number is 2111

Anyway, i was having a fun time with my boss and the team... we were shouting, cheering and drinking... My boss, few of my colleagues and I were supported Ned from the beginning till the end. Only one of my colleagues supported Bra... 4 vs 1 :p

Guess what? my boss got a free jug of beer from the house for guessing the exact right score for Ned vs Bra game.

Go Ned go ...

Happy Birthday Dad + Canada Day

My dad birthday is on the same day as Canada Day. How i gonna celebrate my dad's birthday? hehehe... mom is going to cook tonight and i will be home for dinner. I'm going to skip gym and be back to have dinner together with my parents.

Happy Birthday Dad

Canada day is the independent day for Canada. Every year they have the fireworks celebration... This reminds me when i was in Canada decade ago... Each of us got a nice Canada flag pin for free when you visit the parade. Unfortunately my photo was not in digital to show you how they celebrated Canada Day.

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadian
