Saturday afternoon - To gym or NOT to gym ...

Oops! people must be thinking... My only things can be do in Saturday is to gym. I was slowing down on going to the gym recently. Kind of lazy, not sure why but i think i have to ditch my bad habit of not hitting the gym as often as i did.

I was proudly telling everyone i'm a gym goer and hitting the gym everyday. But today, I was asking myself "To gym or NOT to gym"

Guess what?
One of my friend who is a blogger posted a picture in my FB after i ask this "To gym or NOT to gym"

hehehe... do you find going to gym very hard? I found consistently going to the gym is hard after you kind of slow down.

Okay~ Time to wrap up and hit the gym eh~

On swinging like a monkey

Fitness First Avenue K has installed a racks of functional workout... It has becoming quite popular outlet after its make over on reflecting the latest Fitness First Rebranding. They have installed some new tools and workout equipment. One of them is

Functional Workout Rack - Monkey Bar (the Gray rack)
The Monkey Bar rack was for those members whom wanted to workout their arms and abs... this workout rack is a whole body functional workout. Not really fully utilized at this moment as not many people able to swing from one bar to another.

Back to the Monkey Bar Workout... I was trying to swing myself from one bar to another... the most i can finished was 5 bars which not even 1/3 of the total bars. Anyway, i'm trying to reach as many as i could on my next attempt. One bar at a time~ :p

Anyone has tried this workout?

Gym membership - What is your goal?

Gym membership seems like a trend in Malaysia and Singapore. Nowadays, almost every young people are talking about gymming... Are you a gym goer yourself?

"Which gym are you going?"
"Fitness First. u?"
"Oh... cool. Mine is Celebrity Fitness"
"I didn't join any chain. Mine is xxx on top of the shop houses"
"Wow~ there is a hardcore gym eh~"
"......."

So, what would you like to achieve when you join the gym?

Different people has different goal to achieve in the gym. Some people engaging the Personal Trainer to strength their stamina and core, work hard and hoping to get the result fast... But some people just go to the gym to enjoy the environment, walking around and chit chat. This bunch are the happy go lucky... Minimum exercise~ ...There are group whom like to stalk people from behind to see what others are working out... These people just spent most of the time walking around the gym,  and they are not serious about working out hard.... Maybe their goal is not workout but stalk out...No point to join the gym eh~

I saw a very humorous way of representing the gym members inside the gym...

Adapted from FB - Muscle and Brawn
So which one of the above character well represent you as a gym member?
What is your goal when you sign up for the gym?

During running...

After 1hr 34mins 11secs...

Sweaty and energy drained TZ - smile with the finisher medal
At that moment, I was doubt whether able to grab the finished medal. While approaching the counter that distributing items... First item they given out was a can of 100plus, followed by a bottle of water and a banana... I was disappointed as i thought i don't get any finisher medal as i finished more than 1.5 hrs. But to my surprise, I was given the finisher medal before i left the distribution counter... Yay! Yay! I successfully added another medal into my running corner.

Everything is POSSIBLE extreme Ride 2013

I received an invitation from Izwan, the RPM instructor to participate on the Everything is Possible Extreme Ride 2013 at Fitness First clubs. All the participants have to finished 24 rides in any RPM classes in order to be qualified for the Finale Ride i.e. 3 hours ride in Fitness First Avenue K.

I was given the first signature after riding in Izwan RPM class @ Summit Wednesday. I still not sure whether should i continue to participate as i will be losing most of my muscle cause i need to attend 3 classes per week in order to get the qualification.

The instructor signature

The report card :p
Here you go the step by step explanation. All the participants need to abide to the timeline given and finished the number of RPM classes accordingly to the timeline. Is this tough? I would say not to those RPM advance riders but for those beginner, you may need to put more effort to complete the requirement.

Anyone interested to participate the Extreme Ride 2013?

30 PT Session completed

Yesterday marked the completion of my 30 Personal Training (PT) session. Do i got the body as what i wanted?

Picture adapted from http://www.dramainkorea.com
Unfortunately i still don't have the body like RAIN, the korean celebrity... whom almost everyone admire his nice and defined body... imagine TZ has this body... wow~ *Slap slap TZ*
I'm asking myself on how long more should i have to go on diet, extensive exercise with PT... In the first place, can i get there or not?...

One of my friend teased me that i will NOT be able to get this body. He asked me to forget on working hard to achieve it... why? According to him, due to my age, it's not easy or impossible to get what RAIN has... Sad right?

Anyway, i wanted to proof my friend wrong and started to work hard to reach my goal i.e. gain 6 pack @ the abs. I have renew another 30 PT session until end of this year.

Do you think i could do it?

Sharing is Caring

Colleague: Hey i want to share something with you.
Me: What would you want to share with me? Money?
Colleague: Sharing Money is no fun.
Me: But it's fun for me... I get extra money and can buy things that i like.
Colleague: Nope that will not be money... I want to share with you Nuts.

Given that i'm starting to be conscious on my weight and i'm aiming for 6 packs as per my target. This colleagues of mine has started to tempt me using all kinds of nuts. He bought from the Nuts sales @ our office cafeteria.

Me: No thanks i just started on the diet program.
Colleague: Nevermind, after eating these nuts, go do more cardio and exercise.
Me: No thanks. I want to skip this round. Maybe next time.
Colleague: Cannot you must eat... you have no choice...
Me: Why?
Colleague: Sharing is Caring... so i want to share with you and you must eat in return.

Colleagues walked over with a piece of paper... poured 4 types of snacks including the nuts.

On that day after eating the Nuts i went Nuts on my workout... Work hard for that 1.5 hours.

My first Metal Medal...

Last Sunday i gotten my first Medal for finishing the Ekiden Run 2011 with 4 of my friends. As early as 5am i woke up and got ready for the relay run in Putrajaya in conjunction of the Youth Day.

The run was consider a fun run as each of us only need to run 3km... i was the 2nd runner and the starting point was behind the PICC which straightaway started with uphill... tough tough tough. I could not walk uphill as all the people in the station were cheering the runner. What a tough moment to start. Even though cannot run also need to pretend to run.

After running 1km my leg was so sore as i was in walking mode around 400m then run a bit and walk a bit... I was walking up the slope to cross the bridge... then all of the sudden there was this cameraman and a video man talking video and camera. TZ is smart, so i started to run to pass the camera. Straight after i was away from the camera... i walked again :p i was not able to run... i started back on running about 500m before the next station. So i will look good and of cause officially passed over to my friend in running mode ;-)

Anyway, i managed to finish 3km in about 25 mins... and i gotten my first medal...

Ekiden Run Putrajaya 2011 - TZ first Medal

Anyone interested to participate on year 2012?... Let's make this to be bloggers' Ekiden Run 2012...

Ps: I would like to thanks Calvin for taking the picture of me and Medie007 for getting us together for this run :)

Exercise mouth @ gym

Since the opening of Fitness First 1 Mont Kiara, I started to hit the gym there. It's the closest FF gym to my place and it's an hour drive from my workplace without jam.

I have a friend also join the same gym. He has engaged a personal trainer and the personal training trains him every Mon, Wed and Friday. BTW, he complaint to me that his PT always torture him. Hmmm.... this is so call, pay people to torture yourself :p

Anyway, just wanna to understand what type of exercise usually you do in the gym. Are you attending the group exercise like Bodypump, Bodycombat, RPM, TRX etc. What would your workout schedule like... ? Do you exercise your mouth or not?

Guess what? This friends of mine not only have PT training and workout on the machine. He also workout his mouth regularly too. Of cause, he workout with his phone. Basically, he talked and talked and talked... There was one day, i started with my 3KM ~ 20mins run, followed by the weights and ended my workout in an hour....

Guess what? I still saw him exercising his mouth :p

Healthy lifestyle

Do you consider your lifestyle healthy?

Recently i have changed my diet to more balance diet, go to gym and workout for at least 1.5 hours, sometime I even spent 2.5 hours if i attend the cardio class like RPM. Some of my colleagues have envy that i have such a lifestyle and surprise i could maintain with this lifestyle for years. Coz they always think the working group will not have energy for exercise. Hmmm.... it's an excuse...

Last week when i was eating with my colleagues... One of the lady was so envy with my healthy lifestyle. She kept asking me how i could sustain with this lifestyle.

Lady: Hey you have a fit body
Me: Thanks...I go to gym everyday and control my diet too.
Lady: wow! What workout are you doing?
Me: I do 1 hour of cardio class (RPM) and 1.5 hours of weight training.
Lady: Wow~ you are so determine to go to the gym everyday.
Me: Yup...It's part of my life.

Few days back she saw me eating salad in the office.

Lady: Hey your breakfast is so healthy.
Me: This is my snack.
Lady: So what do you have for breakfast?
Me: I have fruits, oat and yogurt for breakfast.
Lady: Wow~ you really a health conscious guy.
Me: Hmmm... i wanna to get a lean and fit body.

Anyway, I have dropped some of my unhealthy habit to make myself eating those healthy food again. I have a plan to build the six pack. Before having the six pack, i need to work hard on my abs and control my diet.

BTW, I'm trying to sleep before 12am too...

Let's get a healthy lifestyle and do start your healthy lifestyle today before it's too late eh~

Me: I'm going for RPM... and it's a exercise class in Fitness Firat.
Engineer: Oh! It's exercise class in Fitness First. I thought you are going for cycling professional class (learn how to cycle).
Me: *eye rolling* errrrr... why i need to learn how to cycle? Anyway, i'm going for RPM Endurance class.
Engineer: What is the different between RPM and RPM endurance.
Me: RPM is 45 mins class and it's 9 tracks including warm up and cool down. RPM Endurance is 1.5 hours class and it's 18-19 tracks depends on instructor including warm up and cool down.
Engineer: oh... must be fun and tough
Me: hmm... this one is not that tough coz there is another 3 hours class coming soon. want to come along ?
Engineer: errr... nope thanks.

I attended the RPM endurance 1.5 hours class last night. It was fun and we had two Mountain track at the end of the class before cool down (total track: 19). Tired and Disappointed Monday

I was drained out after my gym yesterday night. I didn't sleep well the whole weekend as i was out until 2am on Friday night, 2am on Saturday night and study until 1am on Sunday night Errmmm Monday morning as per said.

Anyway, it was a tired Monday... i was having an appointment in the afternoon. Waited for about 1/2 hour and it was a disappointed with the result... please don't ask me as i wouldn't wanna to talk about it. Let's forget about it. :(

I hit the gym @ about 5pm, started with cardio for about 15mins, followed by the weight training for about 45mins, ended my gym session with an Intermediate Step class by Chikoyo. I was not able to concentrate last night. I was so tired... After the gym, i went for a quick bites and picked up my mom from her meeting. Headed home and washed all my sweaty gym clothing...

Now i'm laying on my nice and cooling bed enjoying nice classical music... gotta hit the bed now. Need to wake up early tomorrow morning. Another busy day...
